I said, " a player like miller"..... As in a top flight player that can be added to the defense. We've been bad against the run for years and it should have been addressed by now. Salary cap space is the bottom line
We had over 20 million in cap space Cheapskate Son chose not to use . We like our guys.

This dysfunctional ownership has ignored addressing the DT and rushing weaknesses for years.

I want to know why he had to throw 46 times. It wasnt like the Packers were stopping our run game. Take away 10 passes and convert those to runs and I really wonder if Rodgers and the Packers would have had time to continue running and using play action. Take away a few minutes off the clock and suddenly Rodgers has to do straight up dropbacks and we get to hunt.

Kellen Moore is the single worst play caller in the nfl not named Nathaniel Hackett . He’s so bad you have to wonder if he’s actively sabotaging the team .

I could be mistaken but I thought we were 10mil under before signing Hankins, but the point is, any player that doesn’t live up to his salary cap burden must be questioned.

let’s see if the Messiah will earn his 49 million next year and 53 million the next year IF it’s not renegotiated down…..he’s not even earning his present salary cap burden and he’s getting fragile physically and started to turn the ball over more……tell me what part of what I said is incorrect.

Granted, it's 5 games for Rush, compared to four for Dak, but it's still a stat that stands out.
After a 4-1 start, Cooper Rush has 1020 yards, with 5 tds and 3 interceptions.
Dak has a 2-2 record in 4 games, 856 yds, with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
I was actually surprised to see that Rush is still leading in stats, especially since he played against the Giants, Eagles, Bengals, and Commanders, and Rams.
Dak has faced the Packers, Bears, Lions, and Buccaneers.
Make of it what you want. But Rush has 154 yds more than Dak, so the extra game isn't really an issue.
Cooper Rush is a decent backup. That is all. Quit with the nonsense.

Dak is better in the red zone.

Cooper Rush is about the same as Dak between the 20s.

It comes down to red zone, but it matters. A lot of it is arm strength and his ability/pocket presence in the pocket is . . . well, let's just say he isn't Tony Romo in the pocket.

Cooper Rush is a decent backup. That is all. Quit with the nonsense.

I think he has the potential to be more than that. In due time. Right now, he's our backup. But if Dak loses another two games, Cooper Rush will be the starter.

I wouldn't count out the possibility of benching Dak. We've already seen them bench Zeke...

Kellen Moore is the single worst play caller in the nfl not named Nathaniel Hackett . He’s so bad you have to wonder if he’s actively sabotaging the team .

This is laughable, considering how much Kellen has been a part of our successes this year.

He's not perfect, but neither is Dan Quinn. But I still like Quinn. And I still know Moore is one of the better coordinators in the league.

The problem right now isn't with the coordinators. People just like to place blame on people who they don't like. This is on McCarthy, because he is not managing his coordinators.

Cooper Rush isn't being paid $40M
Cooper Rush isn't crippling the team with his salary
Cooper Rush isn't the reason Amari Cooper was traded
Bottom line: Cooper Rush is 4-1; Dak is 2-2
Dak's 2 wins were against teams that were a hot mess. Both Chicago and Detroit were coming apart during the games. If Detroit hadn't self-destructed, they probably win that game.
Rush beat the Giants, Bengals, Rams, and the Commanders- and the Commanders have shown they are not laughable.
It's hard to say Dak is the better of the two.
It's easy to say Cooper Rush is better.

You can't seriously be using the fact that the talking head shows will pour jet fuel on any controversy they can manufacture about the Cowboys in the name of ratings to justify anything.. And if you want to discuss anything civilly you should refrain from using crap like "Savior" and "Messiah." The guy's a football player .. not some demi-god. Let's discuss the football and leave the rest of the crap out of it. Unless you really don't WANT to have a civil discussion? A guy who jams his thumb on a defender is not "fragile" physically. That has happened to probably every QB who has ever played. Dak's problem was that he stayed in the game after doing it the first time and ended up doing it again to break the damn thing. If anything he was too tough for his own good in that instance.

Whether he is earning his salary is of no interest to me. I look at how he's playing. And there are things that he can do better for sure. He has been mostly very sharp throwing the ball since the first half of the Detroit game. So sharp that I think it has led to his taking chances he would not take previously. Because he knows he can put the ball between a squirrel's nuts from 30 yards away he is trying to squeeze the ball into really tight spots. And frankly he has been spot on with the ball placement. I do think he has WAY too much faith in his line and stays in the pocket too long. He also needs to get this whole communication thing with CD fixed. Regardless of whose "fault" it is, it helped us lose a game Sunday and will do so again if they don't get it worked out. The good news is that I think it slapped them in the face this week and will be getting extra attention from this point forward. I don't expect to see that play blow up on us again this season.

The last issue for me is he's simply got to run more. There have been too many instances where he has thrown a contested pass on 3rd and 5 when he could have run for all or most of the yards and setup 4th and a yard or less at worst. I get that he wants to stay in the line up.. but damnit him running helps us win.. which is the #1 goal.. Playing scared is a loser's way. Still in all the bottom line is Dak played well overall Sunday but needed to be better. And one of the ways he needed to be better is he needed to audible into the running game that was averaging over 5 yards a pop most of the day. I get that he has confidence in his arm.. but the running game beats on the defense in a way that the passing game doesn't. He needs to understand that even if his OC doesn't. If he doesn't figure it out this season is going to end a lot like the last several.

Dak is going 3 and out more frequently and giving the opposing offense more possessions with turnovers - so he is actually the reason the defense is playing worse

The bigger point is it’s not preventing us from going out and obtaining more talent . We have the Cap space but choose not to use it.

Shoot, we don’t even address a NT or interior DL early in the draft. It’s a systemic issue and default of our front office .

Both the Rams and Bengals were a hot mess when we played them.. Detroit just beat the team that just beat us and then beat the Bears for two wins in a row so apparently they stopped coming apart? The Bears were coming off a 26 point win over the Patriots and continue to roll up 30 points against pretty much anybody they face. Teams that put up 30 ppg and have lost their last two games by a combined 5 points aint "coming apart."

As for what's hard or easy to say? It's easy to say whatever you want to say.. The hard thing (for some) is saying something logical.

That's one way to look at what's going on with the defense.

If you truly believe Rush is the better QB then we should receive some high draft capital for him in trades in offseason. What do you think he’ll fetch?

The fact that Detroit just beat the Packers makes that loss to the Packers even worse!
And New England used a rookie QB vs the Bears and were not trying to win. Anyone watching could see that!

How do you explain having a 14 point lead heading into 4th qtr.

We can’t expect our Top 10 caliber defense to hang on to these type of leads in 4th qtr when offense puts up 28 points and 2 TD lead?

I assume you have something to back up this claim?

Let me help you..

In the three games since Dak returned the Cowboys have gone 3 and out 7 times and committed 3 turnovers..
In the three games before Dak returned the Cowboys went 3 and out 8 times and committed 3 turnovers..

Your witness..

Lions are a tough out for most teams. They were a fumble at the goal line away from taking the lead on us in 4th qtr.

They’ve had some other heart breaking losses . Dan has them going in right direction. They have 2 wins in a row. The Bears are another story .

Dak isn't crippling the Cowboys with his contract. You do know we are many many millions below the salary cap, right?

Amari Cooper is the reason Amari Cooper was traded.
