Cooper Rush still leads the Cowboys in passing yards

He just dropped 28 and 49 points. Maybe we should have shored up our defense so that teams aren't regularly running for 200+ yards on us

His interceptions just cost the Cowboys at least 17, possibly 21 points to the Packers.
And he didn't "drop" 49 points on the Bears. Everyone on the Cowboys team was chipping in.

Im not trying to say Rush is a starting caliber QB. I’m trying to say we’re paying 160 million for a back-up style QB which is what Dak has turned into.

The last couple of games our defense is starting to look like it did during the 2020 season. Our rush defense is currently just about as bad as it was two years ago. Sunday was only the third time in 35 years that the Cowboys have given up back to back 200 yard rushing games. We’ve given up around 450 rushing yards the last two games.

Cincinnati wasn’t playing well when we played them in week two and the Rams haven’t looked good all season. As I mentioned to the other poster our defense was playing much better when Rush was at QB. Our defense is starting to regress and our run defense has gotten worse every week. We had a 14 point lead on Sunday and the defense and playcalling had a lot to do with us blowing that lead.

When you're running the ball more, that doesn't matter as much. Besides, when Hendershot and Ferguson were playing, most people were saying we should just dump Schultz.

We are averaging 26 with Dak, not 33. Also, our D gave up 15.8 with Rush playing conservative, ball control style of offense. With Dak we have given up 21.25.

I can't even give you a like for this, but I agree.

Our defense is clearly regressed the past two weeks. Our run defense has looked awful! This is a big reason why we’re throwing the ball a lot more. Plus with Zeke being out the past couple of games we’re not able to wear down anyone. Cooper Rush had the benefit of having Zeke the entire time. Granted, Pollard has played well in his absence but we need Zeke’s tough inside running and blocking ability.

I said we’re averaging around 33 points per game with Dak the last three games he’s played. I’m not factoring in the opener against Tampa. We haven’t been able to control the ball as well without Zeke. Our D was clearly playing better when Rush was at QB. We were bending, but not breaking, but now we’re starting to break. We’re giving up plays we weren’t giving up earlier in the season.

I'm curious about why the defense sucking is causing us to pass more. It's not like we're falling far behind, and when we did against GB it was because of our passing game giving the ball up.

Dak (4 games) 127 (32 attempts/game average)

So 4 attempts/game average difference; that belief has been dispelled.

Defensive points given up by Dallas average:

Rush at QB (5 games): 16 points game

Dak at QB (4 games): 21 points game

So 5 points/game average difference.

Turnovers by Dallas defense per QB:

Rush (5 games): 6

Dak (4 games): 9

So Dallas has given Dak more chances in less games.



So keep telling me how the Dallas defense, and not Dak, is the issue.
