When I say "reloaded" I'm talking about new faces...new players. They have a bunch of new players on defense and they've revamped the oline. I doubt the talent level of a lot of these players, but the coaching is elite. Trust me if Garrett was going thru this type of transition of talent, we'd be hearing excuses of why we aren't competitive and how we have to have patience in the "process."

This is just complete and utter nonsense. Garrett did do the same thing. They cut all the old players, rebuilt the OL, tried rebuilding the DL and added talent all over the years while getting rid of old wahsed up vets, yet he was 8-8 and people were bashing that. Now you come in saying Garrett couldn't have done what Coughlin did/is doing, when the Giants are a .500 team after 2 losing seasons when Garrett did in fact do the exact same thing, except his teams were always .500 during the rebuild. I don't like Garrett much, but this is complete nonsense and grass is greener talk.

The biggest point I take away from the OP, is Coughlin always gets more from his team's as compared to Garrett who gets very little.

When I say opportunity, I mean when they get a chance to win the division and get into the playoffs.

And, yes, when they've gotten to the playoffs, they have made noise, including winning the Super Bowl twice.

Of course, if you want to get technical about it, any team that doesn't win out doesn't fit my statement.

But I think you - and others - know what I mean.

They had a chance to win the division or make the playoffs those years if they did not go 3-3. The 6-10 team would have been 9-7. The 7-9 team would have been 10-6. The 9-7 would have been 12-4.

I just don't see where the Giants suddenly become a different team that will go on a run because they have a chance to win the division. They did it a couple of times, but squandered other opportunities by being mediocre down the stretch.

I think they are being viewed in light of those "magical" years they had under Coughlin instead of their normal years under Coughlin. They are not a team that typically becomes something more than what they've shown all season just because they have a chance to win the division.

Yes, Coughlin has shown that he can take teams on a Super run, so it's a possibility, but it's not the norm.

Seems like the Giants are just great at keeping every game close (which is probably why they're 8 and 8.) The real fun is about to begin in the NFC East. First half of the season everything has been left unknown. Now we're about to find out who's gonna take over the division.

We can win every game if romo is there.

Green bay doesn't look good right now. That may change but now they're free Falling

Boy the Giants fans are going off on Beckham for that play. Apparently there's a GIF going around showing just after he caught the ball he started to extend it with one hand to show off and on the extension Butler slapped it away. They are enraged at him because they actually called him out for celebrating a little too quick before.

Oh well - keep on keeping on Odell - cost you the game.

Problem is fellas that even if they finish 7-9, that means we have to be 8-8 to out right win the division...............that means 6-1 down the stretch.

Means we have to beat either the undefeated Panthers on Thanksgiving or beat the Packers in Lambeu..............and win all our other games as well.........if Romo pulls this off, they should build a statue of him outside the stadium.

"Not the norm"? Lol
No coach takes their team on a SB run as a norm

The guy had won 2 SBs since we were in an NFC CG

Please god let the craziness and excuse making stop

Yet before Romo got hurt, the Garrett-led Cowboys had beaten the Coughlin-led Giants 5 straight times...and 6 of the last 7.

Not really defending Garrett per se, just pointing out a fact.

Coughlin led Giants have had epic collapses at season's end before, there's nothing to say that it couldn't happen again. There's still hope.

Right now we just need to beat Miami, because if we lose that game it will be almost impossible for us to win the division, regardless of what the Giants do.

I was not referring to single games within a season but over the course of a seadon . Coughlin has a way of ressurecting the team when it appears their season is on the brink of collapse. Garrett/wade coached teams seem to find a way to lose when they need a win the most.

It was my concern last year that they would get their act together this year.

This is what I see:

1. Coughlin getting a lot from his players. Especially defense.
2. Giants have had lead in final 2 minutes of what, 4 losses. These fudgers could be 9-1.
3. I really hate to think the Eli/Giants go for 3rd super bowl... Vs... Who else..... The ones they arevthevdaddy to... The pats.

I may have to move out of New York if gumby ends up with 3 super bowl wins.... 3 sb mvp's... And Romo never even gets to one title game.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. These Giants should be a really krappy team and yet they have been playing so much over their talent level. Their OL sucks, their def sucks, many many injuries and yeti they still seem to be hanging in there pulling the Rope A Dope. God if Eli were to get another SB ring I mayor gave to leave NY as well. Anybody but the Giants pls...Personally I love how the Panthers play defense.

It just sucks that the Parcells disciples are ruling the last 15 years.

I'm on Cam bandwagon too. Maybe beat Eli/Giants s to get to super bowl ... Lol

No. Didn't say it was either.
?

If you want to back track that is fine because you said something completely ridiculous and non factual in trying to defend our HC

You said
"It took a ridiculous performance from a guy making his first start at QB"

Those are your exact words

For Dallas. Self explanatory. Keep on trucking good buddy. You win. I obviously was trying to trick you into believing it was Matt's first start eva because there's no other way to refute your point that a team Dallas had beaten five times in a row is much more successful than Dallas. Clarence Darrow couldn't pierce the airtight case you made by just saying that ridiculousness.
