Coughlin-led Giants won't let us in

You can hate the Giants all you want. They are a average team but they have resilience and they play very hard week in week out. If they get in the playoffs they can easily beat Carolina or Arizona. I think the same can be said about us if we get in.

What team are you watching? The Giants are not good at all. They will be lucky to win the East this year. I don't see it at all. They are too inconsistent on defense and their offensive line is terrible. That first round pick - Flowers - constantly holds - never gets called for it either. They got lucky when the Pats lost Edleman to injury or else that game is not close.

They must lose to the Skins, I think they win one of the Panthers/Vikes....than pray for at least one more loss to have any semblance of a chance.
Coughlin is a heck of a coach, that team has very average talent but they always play hard.

I agree. I would take Coughlin over any other coach in the NFL. He gets the most out of the least and has been a thorn in our side for years. Just glad he is pushing 70 and should be gone in another year or two.

They were 3-3 last year in the final six games to finish 6-10. They were 3-3 the year before to finish 7-9. They were 3-3 the previous year (which resembles this year) to finish 9-7.

I think the belief that the Giants are that kind of team is just the leftover impression from years ago. They've done it before, so they can do it again. Well, yeah, but they've also done being average down the stretch over and over again, and they can do it again.

When I say opportunity, I mean when they get a chance to win the division and get into the playoffs.

And, yes, when they've gotten to the playoffs, they have made noise, including winning the Super Bowl twice.

Of course, if you want to get technical about it, any team that doesn't win out doesn't fit my statement.

But I think you - and others - know what I mean.

Just out of curiosity, if any other team wins the East will it be because of luck? Why? Why not?

The reason the word "luck" comes in the winning the East is because the rest of the teams in the East have played without any consistency. Does that make sense?

My mistake, he was only the QB coach the first few years. But the offense was generally the same.

Yes, it was somewhat the same, but the numbers showed that Gilbride had them throwing the ball deep far less often.

So any team that wins the East will be lucky to win?

Was it a catch? Cost them the game vs the Pats. The Dez rule strikes again

Boy the Giants fans are going off on Beckham for that play. Apparently there's a GIF going around showing just after he caught the ball he started to extend it with one hand to show off and on the extension Butler slapped it away. They are enraged at him because they actually called him out for celebrating a little too quick before.

Oh well - keep on keeping on Odell - cost you the game.

Giants are inconsistent. That being said, they could be just consistent enough to win this weak division. Then all bets are off.

Exactly. Can you say with certainty that you feel good about any of these teams being consistent enough to win? It is going to take a lot of breaks for the Cowboys to win the East, we all know that. It is very unlikely.

Well can we win a game first ? We are assuming we are going on a huge roll ...this is not a very good football team we have right now ...

PS the Giants will lose to Minny and Carolina

It should've been ruled a catch, but it's nice for all those Giants fans to be on the business end of a bad call after all the crap they gave us for Dez's catch.

The NFC Playoffs should be wide-open

Because 2007 and 2011 have blinded America into believing that Eli and the giants always go on these magical runs and cause people to ignore when the team is flawed like it is. They are no threat

I bet you will be thrilled to see Garrett hoist that Lombardi after he is named coach of the year :)

Ehh Garrett comes along with the ride. He gets no coach of the year. Only person I care about seeing host the Lombardi is Romo after he wins the Superbowl mvp :)

It was my concern last year that they would get their act together this year.

This is what I see:

1. Coughlin getting a lot from his players. Especially defense.
2. Giants have had lead in final 2 minutes of what, 4 losses. These fudgers could be 9-1.
3. I really hate to think the Eli/Giants go for 3rd super bowl... Vs... Who else..... The ones they arevthevdaddy to... The pats.

I may have to move out of New York if gumby ends up with 3 super bowl wins.... 3 sb mvp's... And Romo never even gets to one title game.

Looking at last minute losses for the GMEN can also be our argument. Two OT losses and last minute losses heck our record could be the same LOL.
