According to this post on ranch report....

Leslie Frazier to be interviewed

According to Adam Shefter the former Bears db and db coach of the colts will interview with Jerry

looking at his bio he was also Cinnci DC in 2003 when they had a huge inprovement. It seems everywhere he has been he has had a huge inpact on D.

I'm speculating here but he was a Bears DB in his playing day with Singletary and from all reports I'm seeing we are not going to be interviewing Rivera. The Cowboys never contacted him and he got back on a plan to C town.

This DC could be a Singletary conection it does not sound like Norv.

Great. Instead of an early 1990s Cowboys reunion we can have a 1980s Bears reunion.

hmmm...not getting my hopes up

I still believe it'll be Norv...

That is one way to speculate.

OR...

One could Speculate that since he is a current DB coach with the Colts that Caldwell (a person we are interviewing) would know Frazier and might want to bring him over if he was a HC.

OR...

One could Speculate that since Todd B was the secondary coach with the Cowboys he is getting promoted to DC and we need to hire someone to replace him...so we are looking at Frazier.

OR...

We are getting rid of Bowels, Hiring Rivera as DC and this is a guy that Rivera likes as a possible DB coach.

OR...

We have decided not to go with Rivera or Todd B as DC and want to bring this guy in as a possible DC.

OR...We just like him to be a DB coach no matter who is hired as DC or HC.

Just so many scenarios that would seem to fit more than someone playing with Singletary YEARS ago. Not saying it could never be for that reason, just seems like more a long shot than the other scenarios.

One thing I like about all of these scenarios is that Norv isn't part of one of them.

Of course, I'm sure any second someone will come in here and link the two in some way and thereby crush all hope

I don't want Singletary.

Those who can, do.
Those who can't, coach (actually teach)
Those that could and now coach, fail.

There are very few special players that end up as great coaches. Can anyone name one? Don't say Dungy, Ditka, etc. While these coaches played for Superbowl teams, they weren't a top the list of the players on the team. Though some say Ditka was a top 100 player, the only reason I think he won the superbowl in the first place is because of surprise in Buddy Ryan's 46 defense had on the league. Once that defense was figured out, his Bears vanished.

You Do realize that Ditka was in the HOF as a player, right? He was a GREAT TE. And he won a SB as a coach. There is no other case I know of where a HOF PLAYER then won the SB as a coach.

Wait...you're arguing that because a HOF player has never won a Super Bowl as a coach in the past, a HOF player cannot win a Super Bowl as a coach in the future?

Umm, you're confused. I never said such a thing, and it has happen many times already.

Not saying that I agree totally...but the motovational coachs do work alot better in college than the pros. Mack Brown, Stoops, and Pete Carroll all come to mind. Not sure if Singletary works in this mode or not, but from the surface he would appear to be that type.

If that's not what you're arguing, your post was a jumbled mess. Mind explaining your point a little clearer?

But that's not the point. It's like the joke about the two campers who talk about what they'd do if they saw a bear.

One guy says he'd run as fast as he could.

The other says, "Why even bother? You can't outrun a bear!"

And the first says, "I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun you."

Singletary doesn't have to be great. He just has to be better than Norv.

wasn't Rivera a Bear in his playing days with Singletary as well?

the same could be said that Frazier could be interviewed to be Rivera's DC.

Or who's to say that he isn't being interviewed for the HC spot?

If Rivera is hired as DC...or Todd B is hired as DC....than I would take it that Norv was HC.

Or they just got old and Ditka was fired. He took the Bears to seven playoff berths in eight seasons. Seven 10+ win seasons. Yep the Bears just vanished. Ditka sucked.
