I'm all for Singletary but I think Bowles deserves a shot as DC.

What has impressed you about his coaching ability? (Other than Newman thinks highly of him)

I don't have a strong opinion on Bowles one way or another. Why would he be a strong candidate as DC?

Marvin Lewis was the DC from 1996 to 2000. The Ravens defense sky rocketed from 14th in 1998 to #2 in 1999 and #1 in 2000. What year did they hire Rex Ryan? Thats right! 1999!

Rex Ryan wasn't their DCoord till 2004.


And they didn't have the #1 defense in the NFL in 2000.

The argument is pretty......silly because there are only a handful of great players. Of course there are more coaches that were not great players. There are millions of non HOF players.
