If we could just take care of business, it won’t matter who or when we play. And if we can’t well, then we really don’t belong there in the first placeLet me start by saying this:
I want Dallas to beat Detroit Saturday night. Badly.
But let's say we lose.
And let's say Philly beats Arizona the next day to clinch the NFC East.
That means we'd be locked into the 5th seed.
Which means we could treat our Week 18 game at Washington like a "bye week" of sorts, rather than playing that game to win and risking injury to our key starters right before the playoffs.
With our luck, they might even give us the Saturday night game for Wild Card weekend.
If we're being honest with ourselves, it's pretty unlikely the Eagles drop one of their final 2 games (vs Arizona, at NYG). So Dallas winning out will most likely not affect our playoff seeding.
Again: I want to win Saturday and keep the pressure on Philly. Beating good teams helps keep the team's confidence high and I hate the idea of potentially entering the playoffs on a 4-game losing streak.
But at the end of the day, is "confidence entering the playoffs" more important than "being as healthy as possible entering the playoffs"? It's certainly debatable.
Just offering a sliver of a silver lining in case the Lions ruin our NYE weekend.
Not necessarily. But the ones that go all the way to do.We always limp into the playoffs and it never end well.
The Superbowl teams finished the regular season with winning streaks.
I feel we definitely need a win for our psyche. Playoff seeding is pretty much determined unless an act of God happens. But if we lose to 3 straight playoff teams that would be bad emotionally. So I’m thinking this is a must win to get our confidence back. I’m hoping for a 40 or 50 burger blowout. There will be no blessing in disguise by dropping a 3rd straight game,
They need to win, and against one of the NFL top teams. To regain some momentum going into the playoffs.
It would be better if Dallas won. The best scenario would be that the 49ers and Eagles lost and would be forced to play starters next week. The best scenario would be Dallas getting the 1.Let me start by saying this:

I think that the fans are much more fragile than the team.Yeah, losing it home could be a silver lining for this team's fragile psyche.
Yeah based on all the deep playoffs runs right?I think that the fans are much more fragile than the team.
Yes...we have to play strong and win. We are not built to just ramp it up at any time. There will be no blessing in disguise by dropping a 3rd straight game,

The players have to be WAY stronger than fans. Who cares what fans think.I think that the fans are much more fragile than the team.
Nah, just you, bro.I think that the fans are much more fragile than the team.
LolHear me out, Dallas needs to lose out even in the playoffs. They are clearly contenders but need that draft position to make their true run in 2024.
6d chess. Bigger picture
I would say yes they believe the NFC is for the taking. The players have to be WAY stronger than fans. Who cares what fans think.
Do the players TRULY feel they can win? Against anyone? Anywhere?
Or...are we ready to blame refs again?
