Could losing vs Detroit be a blessing in disguise?

If Dallas are paper tigers, the Lions are paper mache. No way we lose to them.

So, defeat is a misunderstood form of victory?

Carolina had so many blessings in disguise that they can rest their starters until next season.

is there a way to jump "the peak homeredome" shark more than rooting for losses.

mist of the brigade accuse you of not being real fans when predicting a loss.

now it's alpa fan duty?

Yeah...history is littered with Superbowl champs which lost 3 straight in December

Go Cowboys!

Yea, DET getting the 1-seed so that's where we play the divisional instead of SF would be advantageous.

There's no realistic upside to beating DET

Jumping back in for just a sec.

Do you people know how to read? I clarified multiple times that I want to win Saturday!

Was just offering up a teeny, tiny piece of a silver lining in case we lose.

Have a good one, folks. It's not that serious.

Dallas is really good at home this season.... With a huge chance to get the 2 seed, Dallas needs to go all out to win some home games for the playoffs.

If San Fran trips up in the playoffs, Dallas would have home field throughout the playoffs
Lol huge chance really, it’s like 18 percent chance right now.

Wow, I must've REALLY bullied the crap out of you at some point, old man.

I'm so sorry that losers lose. You knew that already though.

Yes, and and I'm learning more reading your posts, little child.

Rent free.

Is this how you cope with living a terrible life?

Yes...making music on the road does get terrible at times, but, hey, that's life, right?
That's another good thing...
I don't have to rent anything...I own myself a tent..

I've worked for every penny that I've spent...
I get a guitar play my way into the night...
hoping the terrible night... is turned out right.

(now i must leave you be, you see, i am going to go hit me some herb, find the wood and strings).

Let me start by saying this:

I want Dallas to beat Detroit Saturday night. Badly.

But let's say we lose.

And let's say Philly beats Arizona the next day to clinch the NFC East.

That means we'd be locked into the 5th seed.

Which means we could treat our Week 18 game at Washington like a "bye week" of sorts, rather than playing that game to win and risking injury to our key starters right before the playoffs.

With our luck, they might even give us the Saturday night game for Wild Card weekend.

If we're being honest with ourselves, it's pretty unlikely the Eagles drop one of their final 2 games (vs Arizona, at NYG). So Dallas winning out will most likely not affect our playoff seeding.

Again: I want to win Saturday and keep the pressure on Philly. Beating good teams helps keep the team's confidence high and I hate the idea of potentially entering the playoffs on a 4-game losing streak.

But at the end of the day, is "confidence entering the playoffs" more important than "being as healthy as possible entering the playoffs"? It's certainly debatable.

Just offering a sliver of a silver lining in case the Lions ruin our NYE weekend.
Wot? Wot?
Nascent lad, losing (unless for a top draft pick) is never a proper strategy.
I say we win, win, win and always give it the old college try.

No losing in the playoffs surely would, focus on the off season and get better lol

I get what your point is. There are many ways to look at these things.

A lot of things can get one savaged here by our own people.

yea. just like the AZ loss was a blessing
Exactly.
EVERY game is important. At the end of every year you can look at a game lost that should have been a W.
And that 1 game is usually the difference when it comes to seeding.
