Could the Cowboys need a uniform overhaul?

You know there have been many teams in the NFL that have completely overhauled their teams looks and appearance with some looking much better than the old uniforms. Could the Dallas Cowboys be heading for a new look if they win the Super Bowl?

I was thinking like adding more color to their uniforms.

Example:

Jersey might be a nice royal blue color with the 2 large stars on the shoulder in solid white with a red trim around the star and white number on the chest with red outline. v-collar with red and white trim. The Cowboys name just below the v-trim.

Pants would be solid white with a red and blur line down the side with white in the middle.

Helmet would be a shiny white color with red and blue stripe up the middle with white in between and of course a star logo on the side pointing downward with 2 or three small white lines giving it that shooting star look or even a logo similar to the Pats but modified a bit different.

I think this uniform would definately give the Cowboys that "America's Team" look.

The Cowboys have had the same dreary looking uniform for years. I am even starting to like the throwback look better.

What is your opinion or ideas on how a change could give a new fresh look to the Cowboys Orginization?

I am serious... a new look would not be half bad. Especially with the new stadium and all.

...when they are unhappy with what's happening. They are unhappy with the past. There is a tradition of failure and they want to present an image that things are different now. They want a departure from the old.

I don't think the Cowboys are in such a situation. Maybe the Bucs when they went to their new unis or the Bengals, but not Dallas.

The logo and uniform is probably the most enduring tradition of any sports team. Personnel come and go, but they all have to don the uniform or carry the logo when they join the team.

We are a team that prides itself in the past - players, coaches and records.

No need to come up with a break from that tradition. Especially one as drastic as the uniform.

To put it bluntly, when I walk among our peewee kids in practice with my Cowboys jacket all of them recognize the team I root for. These are kids 9-11 years old in Canada. I think the team is doing a pretty good job with it simplistic and classic logo and look.

With the present throwback unis the team has more than enough versions of the team look to last a lifetime. This isn't the USFL.

When you watch the Cowboys play just pretend that's what you see!

The Cowboys uni's are perfect, the best in all of sports history, they don't need to be tweeked in anyway what so ever not even the slightest detail, except I would put the stripes back on the socks that they wore in the early 90s, that's it.

I didn't mean to come across so hard, newcster, but reading that post first thing in the morning was a bad way to start the day. If the Cowboys want to "tweak" a thing or two, fine. They have done that through the years. But a major overhaul to the best unis in the world? No way. Now creating another alternate jersey with a red stripe? Maybe, but I wouldn't buy that one.

The reason all other teams tweak their uni's is because they somehow need to enhance their image. It's a gimmick. The Cowboys are not a gimmick, they have the best uni's in all sports period.
