This was a lost year for Henson due to a gigantic coaching mistake and someone should be held accountable (? David Lee).

Bingo!! I still can't understand why he is still here?? I mean last year it was Payton being QB coach, he seems to have brought along Romo just fine. Lee steps in QB, and pretty much screws up Henson big time.

Except at the time we were supposed to send players to NFLE, Bledsoe still hadnt been signed if I remember correctly. Cant send Henson to NFLE if we dont even know who are starting QB will be. If he went to NFLE and somehow ended up having to start that's gonna be a really LONG season.
I do wish he had gone to Europe last year though, I just think due to circumstance he had to stay here.

He should have went last off season.

But that was then and this is now.

What's the big deal? All I see from BP is he thinks that Henson is doing great in practice. But now he needs some playing time. He can't get it now obviously because of Bledsoe, so we're thinking about sending him to Europe just to get him some game experience because he hasn't played for a while. I don't see anything remotely close to BP implying that he is sucking or stinking up the joint and now he's going to Europe to put up or shut up.

The latter is only what Nors sees.

but last year there were just too many hints from Dallas (and national) media members that Parcells didn't like Henson. When there's that much smoke, there's usually some fire.

that was a bunch of crap, hear Parcells say that he thinks Henson has a future in Dallas, during the offseason?

Listen to Bill

Nors, you too

guys, remember after changing his throwing motion, he threw 5,000 passes and Parcells was really pleased? so where does this hoopla about Henson being ruined come from?

Just from the fact he is not playing and went from #2 to #3. He got hurt.

Romo was/is more experienced, that is all, and yes, the correction hurt his development somewhat, but it didn't ruin him, or why would Parcells beam over him throwing 5,000 passes with the corrected throwing motion? give it time fellas

Say goodbye to Drew Henson. We will be drafting a QB in the 1st round of the 2007 draft. He will be young and get a year on the sidelines to learn behind Bledsoe.

Parcells sending Henson to NFLE = Henson will no longer be a Cowboy.

Summer here is why Henson is as good as gone.

Bledsoe is showing no signs of slowing down. He is ranked #1 in the NFC and in the top 5 in the NFL. He is doing a very good job and it does not look like he will be slowing down any year soon. He might have 4 more prime years left in him after this year.

So why break up a good thing. Parcells is gonna make huge improvement on the OL and build this team around Bledsoe for a few Super Bowl runs.

By the time Bledsoe is past his prime Henson is gonna be 30 years old. By the time he gets up to NFL speed he will be around 32 years old and only have a few prime years left.

I would have loved for Henson to be our QB of the future but it aint gonna happen.

Parcells is sending him to Europe hoping he does good so it makes his trade value better. That is all.

Look for us to draft our QB of the future no later then the 1st round of 2008.

valid points

but they're all wrong, and here is why...

we invested a 3rd in Henson, no coach, or GM, in their right mind would get rid of that type of investment without trying it out

It is only a 3rd rounder. No bd if we dump him. Parcells dumped Hutch after Europe and I expect the same with Henson. Henson needs a team with a coach that will bring him along so he can start in another year. That is just not gonna happen here.

and 2, there's a reason Henson has an 8-year deal

I mean, what business do Parcells and Jerry Jones have being in the NFL, if they were to invest in a young player, when they know it's going to be a process, but then dump him before he even gets a chance? plus Parcells covets draft picks, now why would he just waste one all of a sudden?

Parcells didn't bring in Hutch, he didn't invest a coveted draft pick, and Parcells covets all draft picks

Romo isn't more experienced. Heck, Romo has never thrown a pass in a regular season game. Henson has at least done that. Romo beat him in camp/preseason, and it was obvious that Henson regressed with the new throwing motion.

Romo has a year over Henson in the system, and didn't have to deal with a new throwing motion

I'm not debating that correcting his throwing motion set Henson back, just that it's not a huge setback, he should get more comfortable with it, and will start thinking about it, less and less, as time goes on, and throwing it around in practice, w/o having to worry about the speed of the NFl, will really help the comfort process move along

I don't think you know what NFL Europe is for.

It's for lost cases when it comes to quarterbacks.

And in general it is for players who you are thinking about putting on your practice squad and MAYBE allowing to be 3rd string at some point.

People in NFL Europe are players who are of such low skill level they really can't compete in the NFL. It's filled with undrafted free agents, and some 6th and 7th round draft picks.

Sending Henson there to get "game experience" is a joke. He'd get more experience playing against skilled players in scrimmages in training camp.

Yep it is such a joke that Kurt Warner; Brad Johnson; Jake Delhoume have all played there and all 3 have been starting QB's 2 of them indrafted FA and one who was a 9th round pick which is the equilvalent of a non drafted player and you also realize Brad did not even start at FSU when he was drafted bahaha those are to name a few.

Now if you want to say the majority of the QB's in NFLE do not have the talent for the next level I agree but it is not always the case there are some who prove other wise. Any ways onward and upward
