NFLE will give Henson much needed current experience; I'm all in favor of it. Hope more than one of his O linemen has played before. :D

I don't think you know what NFL Europe is for.

It's for lost cases when it comes to quarterbacks.

And in general it is for players who you are thinking about putting on your practice squad and MAYBE allowing to be 3rd string at some point.

People in NFL Europe are players who are of such low skill level they really can't compete in the NFL. It's filled with undrafted free agents, and some 6th and 7th round draft picks.

Sending Henson there to get "game experience" is a joke. He'd get more experience playing against skilled players in scrimmages in training camp.

I dont agree with this at all. You cant measure Henson situation against what typically goes on with QB's that get sent to Europe.

Henson was away from the game for 3 years. The only way he's going to get back what he once had is to play the game. Like I said above, he should have went there this season. It would have done him alot more good than staying here and having the coaches screw with his mechanics.

Besides all that, last I checked, Jerry Jones still owned the team and I can almost gurantee that Jerry wants to see Henson succeed more than anyone because it would have been a major coup grabbing him for a 3rd round pick.

It helped Kurt Warner, Brad Johnson and Jake Delhome. 3 QB's who eventually took their teams to the Super Bowl.

Other than one post, just who is bashing Henson?

I have defended him as strongly as any poster on this forum.

This is about the coaches, not Henson.;)

I like Henson. He has too much talent to give up on this soon.

I think the NFL Europe idea is a good one just for confidence reasons. Go over there and play the game and have some success and prove to himself and the organization that he can still play, make the reads, make the throws, etc.

He needs this, the organization needs this and I'm all for it.

If they are done screwing up his throwing motion we should send him to Europe.

Coach Bill Parcells is Considering Sending back-up Dallas Cowboy QB Drew Henson to Europe

He then doubled back and said that it isn't definite that we are going to do that, but that we are considering doing that to get him some more game experience.

This is good news, on a coupla different levels-- first, Henson needs the playing time... second, we weren't even sure there was gonna BE an NFL Europe season this coming spring, there was talk about shutting the thing down... third, it will make me MUCH more interested in the league than I was last year... heck, the last time I was this interested, Clint Stoerner and James Whalen were tearin' the league up for the Scotland Claymores...

Yep...

Except I would substitute "is" for "may be".

This presumes that Henson will play like Hutch did over there... I rather doubt that will happen, in fact I think the opposite is much more likely, that he'll have a really solid season over there...

If they wind up sending him...

Or he'll get his head taken off a few too many times by some defensive player with nothing to lose and everything to prove behind a suspect offensive line and a ragtag band of receivers. Henson will return shellshocked and worse than before...

I don't really think NFL Europe has worked out the way people anticipated.

Those citing Henson's mechanics issues are off base. Its not that at all. It's his lack of experience playing past 7 Years. Its his struggle to grasp the speed of the game. The ability to mentally process, decipher and run an NFL Offense. Listen to Parcells - he has really laid it all out past year in his comments.

Stop blaming Dallas coaching that is getting max out of Bledsoe yet "screwed" Henson. Thats not what has transpired.... Drew H needs to play football games. He has an uphill battle here. Really does and it may be in all parties best interest if he is moved.

He's not coming to camp next year any more prepared to beat out Bledsoe or Romo for that matter. That said - NFL Europe is his next stop.

Tell that to Kurt Warner and Jake Delhomme... or Jon Kitna, Jay Fiedler, Kelly Holcomb, Brad Johnson... or any of the other dozen or so NFL quarterbacks in the league right now who played over in Europe...

People in NFL Europe are players who are of such low skill level they really can't compete in the NFL.

Yeah, like La'Roi Glover, Marco Rivera, Keith Davis, Brian Waters, Keith Traylor, Tom Nutten, David Akers, Adam Vinatieri, Dante Hall and Joe Andruzzi... LOL...

The TRUTH is, there are currently right at 190 players on NFL rosters who have played in NFL Europe... some of them are starters now, some of them are even Pro Bowlers...

Sending Henson there to get "game experience" is a joke. He'd get more experience playing against skilled players in scrimmages in training camp.

Except there are no training camps going on while NFL Europe is playing their season... their championship game is in mid June, some six weeks before the start of camp...

It's pretty clear to me that you don't know jack about that league, that you have never followed it... in point of fact, the level of play is indeed a bit less than you'll find in the NFL, but it's somewhat better than even the best Division I college conferences like the Big XII or SEC...

Sure they can... there's no guarantee that both of them would see significant playing time, though; after all, there are only six teams, meaning a max of 12 quarterback slots open (teams over there tend to use two quarterbacks, at least most of them)... but they were at one time last offseason thinking of sending both Romo and Henson over there...

Realistically, if they decide to send Henson over, they probably won't send Long...
