Meanwhile, back at the ranch.
He got paid very littleSo LVE flashed, and gets paid. Some fans are just as bad as the owners; see flash, give cash.
That goodIronically as with many injury prone vet NFL players ... finally stayed healthy and whole in their final " contract' year.
NE is the guy in the back of auction room bidding everything up but buying nothing. It’s their strategy. The more cap money teams have to blow on players , the higher the quality of the leftovers. Works in fantasy football leagues too when you bid on players.Crazy. Just saw reports New England was interested
The fact that he signed for 3 million here tells me that literally nobody wanted him.I'm actually surprised he resigned...thought he might go somewhere wherehe is appreciated. Played his best ball in the playoffs....that's what winners do.
They're doing business as usual.
You are fine with that. You said so with your mockery of those that aren't.
LVE was playing better later in the season. But I hope it's not for much.
Gotta actually give the FO credit on this one. The elected not to use the 5th year option, retained the player, and saved six million in the process.
I agree. He was horrible most the of the year, then the last 5 games started to play better. He actually was decent in the playoff game. I really didn't want him back, but on a one year "prove yourself" deal I'm fine with it. I would never sign him for more than one year, I think he was protecting his neck most of the year and then decided he better start playing or he was going to be out of the NFL.I'm not too upset with this. He did seem to play a little better towards the end of the season. I hope Micah's work ethic can rub off on LVE.
Rest easy, my friend, the Cowboys FO office were doing fist pumps and high fives after this one. They got LVE back they don't need Bobby Wagner. Is it possible he was signed to be Wagner’s backup? Or does this mean BW will go elsewhere?
His signing doesn't prevent you from drafting another high level linebacker.I don't think LVE is the piece to a franchise run, but the reality is you can't pay everyone a ton of money and $3M is fairly cheap regardless of who you were giving it to.
I'd still give a long look at Lloyd or Dean if they're at #24, but there's some good LB depth through the first three rounds that can contribute.
I'm fine with this move. I wish they would do more. They aren't mutually inclusive. We need depth players, and we need stars. Keep your words out of my mouth please.
So clear, the visually impaired can see the end of the tunnel. It’s clear how badly this team wants to win.
