Cheap or not this just screams “meh.”

I can just see Jerry and Stephen sitting there with an uncomfortable silence…besides clinking of ice cubes with JWBlue…and then one going “we can sign Leighton for a year” with a shrug. Then more awkward silence

We no longer like our guys.

We LOVE our guys with all of our heart.

Except when we don't: Cooper, Collins, etc. And we loved Gregory so much, we inserted contract language in at the last minute thast made him bolt for Denver.

I disagree.
If we did give him 5 mil, I think we misspent.
KJ Wright played for 3 last season.
He is older yes, but he is blow up the run SAM.
He sticks his head in there and blows up run plays.
LVE gets pushed 5 yards off the LOS.
IF Parsons will be playing more EDGE (because we screwed up the Gregory deal), we really needed 2 LB's. A Mike (like Wagner) amd a SAM (like Wright).
As of now, we are a much weaker D than last year.
we have no idea what this defense is until we see it on the field.
we've only lost 1 starter off that side of the ball from last year...gregory.
and i think his spot will be filled by a draft pick.
i like chauncey golston and if he wins that job in camp,i'm excited to see what he does.
but i dont believe this defense is weaker with re-signing LVE and losing gregory.
as for kj wright or whoever they might bring in...i'll trust dan quinn with that.
he obvuiusly has alot of say on that side of the ball.

One other thought on this signing. We have seen Armstrong and LVE signed the last two days but no word on Kearse. I fear the longer this goes the less likely they ink him to a new deal. Losing Gregory was bad considering there is no one to take his place, but losing Kearse too will really hurt.

If a cheap signing ($4m) or less (should be 2x minimum) then it’s not a bad signing. If we are paying him real money I like this deal a lot less.

Good bridge signing that doesn't prevent the team from drafting a future starter. He had his struggles when the DL was hurt, but played real well down the stretch. He still will most likely handle that 2 down role, but he can play all the spots if injuries occur.
The issue with Cowboys linebackers has always been the defensive tackles. We need to improve the 1 tech asap.

From what we are offering and what Kearse wants, you can chalk it up that he is as good as gone.

Playing next to Jaylon would make a great LB look good and a good LB look bad.

I have some hope for LVE.

This is a new one. Blaming Smith now for LVE not being good.

I also think Smith is to blame for our poor FA plan the last few years. I mean why not blame him for that too?

I was already over LVE before last year, but I was COMPLETELY over him when I saw him telling Parsons he can't make all the plays all that time. Then the whining he did after Jaylon was left go added even more too it.

That's loser talk and I wanted that kind of attitude far away from Parsons and the rest of this locker room. .

The guarantee money is probably little to none so he could easily be cut if he doesn't make the team.

ok now we know they are officially throwing in the towel, what a slap in the face of the fans who were hoping they could take the next step.

it was a slap in the face when MM & Moore were brought back as coaches - everything else is icing on the cake
