Yeah, franchise would be ok, depending what that number is. Or maybe his team is reasonable and they work with Stephen to get his money but stage it so that it's pay-as-you-go. If he has a true monster year, though, somebody is going to pay him.

I'd treat him about the way we treated Leary last offseason, only adjusted for the position he plays. If he can break somebody's bank, more power to him.

I'm not worried about what the number is as long as he plays well enough to receive it. He gets 18 sacks, let's say. I'm giving him whatever the franchise tag is to show he can do it again.
