Cowboys 0-4 in preseason; are you worried?

Some of those penalties are bogus. I saw some good plays and still they were called on us. Yet when the other team rapes our wide receivers nothing is called.

I mentioned it before, the refs will be the ones determining who wins or losses. The new rule does not favor the Cowboys.

This is true, so many phantom calls this preseason. If the refs ref the regular season games this way, we are doomed before we start.

Zero expectations this year regardless of the preseason record. Anywhere between 3-13 and 6-10. The defense is going to be that bad and I doubt Garrett & Co. will be able to devise game plans that allow the offense to be explosive enough to outscore most teams.

I've had zero expectations for the past ten years with this Jerry Jones led team. That's pathetic !!!

Yes I'm worried. We look worse than I even imagined. 4-12 is my official prediction. We kinda need a year like that, anyway, so we can restock the defense in the draft

Not worried. Johnnie Walker Jones, GM, won't rest until this team is in the Super Bowl!

I'm more worried about the Niners playing well and re-signing Harbaugh. This team is going to stink and we will want the best coaching options available for 2014-2015.

YR

From everything I've heard Harbaugh is gone in San Francisco. He's burned out the front office as well as the players. At first blush I'd say there's no way he would ever take the Cowboy job and Jerry would never hire him -- but if Garrett fails, it might be time in the Jerry cycle of coaches for a Parcells type and he fits the bill.

If they can go 2-2 the first 4 weeks......they got a chance.

Otherwise...if they dig themselves a whole.....

They could fire Garrett ...Just like they did Wade mid-season....

Comments...

Jimmy Johnson went undefeated in preseason en route to a 1-15 season. no

The record isn't worrisome in the preseason. It never is. It's how that record came about. I only watched a little bit of the preseason but one thing that is worrisome is 9+ penalties in every game.

I'm not as worried about the penalties because, by all accounts, the officials were calling them much tighter than they will in the regular season. I'm more worried about the Defense, period! Several "starters" haven't even played one preseason snap. How can there be good communication and cohesion in the early part of the season even if they are decent players...which we don't even know to be the case in several instances? If this team gets off to a bad start, it's all down hill from there, I'm afraid. I just hope and pray that they're not as bad to start the season as I think they're going to be. Our Offense had better be on fire from the get-go!

It's just not their preseason record. They are the same organization they have been for years. Mediocre at best. You can see it in their body language. They expect to be beaten by the dominate teams and compete against the poor teams. Same old offense which any good coordinator can beat. Most of Tonys good plays are broken plays which makes him have to play well above the average qb to win. Terrible defense which has no talent or pride. The coverage is going to get flagged to death because they have to cheat/hold due to lack of talent. They look like pay check players with no leadership to play for. Sorry but all teams have injuries and that's what a good FO is for. We have the worst 2nd unit in the league and have for years. Most of the Denver backups could easily start for our team. Watch all the other teams games and it's very apparent our talent level is very deficient other than receiver and kicker.
The sf game will tell us a lot more of what were in store for so buckle up. I hope the last laugh is on me.

Did you guys see Jerry and son with the big wine glasses--er the cool aid.Even he needed a drink or two to watch these guys.It is going to be an ugly year.If you are a season ticket holder it is a great year to move up.
I just cannot see Romo here with youngsters, he doesn't seem to belong.

Preseason record now means something??

Apparently to some it does, especially if it fits their agenda.

You made these comment or similar in another post last night. I refrained from responding. I still won't say much, as your words clearly show you hate this team.
At least some of the more negative posters on here actually put some thought into their reasons.

Yes, I am worried that there was nothing of visible value accomplished during the pre-season in terms of building continuity for the start of the regular season. Other than Martin, none of the young players stood out from week to week. Major expected position battles on defense (safety, LB, and d-line) never developed.

No, I am not worried because I did not expect this team to come out and dominate the first half of the season. They will take their lumps early but I expect them to improve as the season progresses if they stay healthy.

Babe Laughenberg made silimar comments last night after the game.
He said that nothing, over the off season & TC stood out to him, to show him anything different. not many questions were answered, and we still don't know what to expect.

If The Bambino made similar comments then I'd like to retract my statements. :p This camp, more than any other in previous years, lacked a sense of urgency and too many guys were on the sidelines looking comfortable -- they might as well have been sipping pina coladas or Toilet Blue (what Jerry drinks) as they watched the game.

I was tired so I went to bed at halftime; if anyone stood out the last 30 minutes of the game I apologize for not giving them their props. :D

You didn't miss anything except Jason shaking his head in disgust at Mitchell for, yet, another holding call. LOL.

I heard this the other day an thought it was interesting....
Have we ever seen such disparity in performance/expectations between an offensive & defensive unit in the NFL?
