Only two teams have less sacks than the Cowboys: Miami and San Diego.
Has our dline gotten worse? Specifically we didn't have Lawrence , Gregory, or Hardy last year but we recorded more sacks through 3 games.

We haven't seen Hardy yet, Gregory only played in part of the first game and Mincey missed the last game. It's no surprise we're not getting much pressure. Right now, Tyrone Crawford is the only one we can depend on in that area. We've also lost one of our primary backups at tackle, so we're playing thin right now.

I think Lawrence will get better, but I was hoping for a faster start from him.

So what do they have to do with it if they arent part of either side of the comparison?

Basically is our current defensive line without Gregory and Hardy ( which we didn't have last year) worse than our defensive line last year with mincey and selvie. It would appear that this is the case but I can't see selvie being that much of a difference make since Lawrence basically took his spot. But the question remains why is this line Worse than last years?

Yes they weren't playing last year either.

Yes, but the players they replaced were. When we're down to the fourth or fifth ends starting at right end, it's hard to expect much pressure. If it doesn't increase when Hardy comes off suspension, then we can worry.

We can say oh this guy isn't here or that guy isn't here...but at the end of the day, you need sacks and its true, were not getting them.

Are you for real? The entire defensive line is decimated. Of course there isn't gonna be a lot of sacks. It got so bad we have to use our linebackers as defensive ends. How in the world do you expect to get sacks when there was only two true defensive ends?

I don't think it will pick up much when Hardy returns. He was out so long it's going to take him a few games to get back into the swing of things so patience is called for.

Don't forget that Mincey was out for 33% of this season so far.

So in the last game we were missing the two biggest players that we expect to get to the QB, plus last year's sack leader was out.

If someone would have told me before the season started that Gregory wouldn't play, Hardy wouldn't play and Mincey would miss one of the first 3 games... I would have probably told you not to expect much pressure in those games.

Three games is just not enough time to figure out how the season will go... add in that three of the top 4 DE's would have injury/suspension issues and it would be insane to look for any kind of a trend in regards to pass rushing.

Because small sample size, that's why. It's also foolish to equate only sacks with pressure because the Dline was just fine the first two weeks.

Add Hardy, Gregory to the mix and you have a much improved line.

The Giants and Eagles QBs get ball out in 2 seconds. The average is over 3 seconds.

Atlanta holds it longer but the DL was depleated in that game. LB Wilson and Wilber as well as DT Jack Crawford had to play snaps at DE in that game. They really needed Mincey.
