Only two teams have less sacks than the Cowboys: Miami and San Diego.
Has our dline gotten worse? Specifically we didn't have Lawrence , Gregory, or Hardy last year but we recorded more sacks through 3 games.

No, we didn't. We also had three sacks in the first three games last year -- one against San Francisco, two against Tennessee and none against St. Louis.

Those three sacks were split between four players. Only one of them (Kyle Wilber) has played for us this season. Rolando McClain has been suspended, and both Bruce Carter and Henry Melton play for Tampa Bay now.

meh, we have injuries....

I'm sure if you told management that our line would be lawrence, crawford, golden cock, and guy off the street, they would have made some moves..

Gregory, & Mincey injuries hurt.... and they knew Hardy would take 4 games.....

Terrell McClain hurt though....

2 weeks from now they will be better... 3 weeks from now (when Gregory comes back?)

They will be pretty good...

We have no Choice but to be patient... we lost 4 of our best players for the first 1/4 or longer of the season.....

You do realize that neither hardy nor gregory are playing, right?

We do realize that... However, despite the promise that Gregory has shown, he's still a rookie who has proven absolutely nothing in this league. Hardy meanwhile is on a renta-player contract, and he has only played in 1 game since the end of the 2013 season, he's more than a full year removed from his last NFL game. Hardy was good in 2012 and 2013, but this is now 2015, and we can't be sure he's still the same player he was in Carolina until we actually see it. In Carolina, Greg Hardy also had another double-digit sacks guy in Charles Johnson at the other DE position. The pass-rush and defense in general will improve with the additions of Hardy, McClain, and Gregory, but I think it would be wise to temper the expectations on how much or how fast it will improve...

I agree data set is small for both players in this system, most will want them to show up in midseason form reality, is far from that with being sidelined for so long. We have bigger problems on the offensive side, a better defense does not improve the offense, our backup QB is going to struggle no matter what Jerry or Stephen market about his talent.

I'm sorry... Let me try and make it up to you... I think if we can somehow stay within a game (maybe even two) of the division lead by the time Romo comes back, then we will still win the division and quite possibly the Super Bowl... There, feel better?

The Giants and Eagles QBs get ball out in 2 seconds. The average is over 3 seconds.

Atlanta holds it longer but the DL was depleated in that game. LB Wilson and Wilber as well as DT Jack Crawford had to play snaps at DE in that game. They really needed Mincey.

This reply is spot on!

I expect less from McClain because he didn't practice much or play during the preseason. Hardy had the preseason to get his feet back under him. I expect him to pressure the passer. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll get sacks, but he'll make his presence felt.

Nope. McClain is a monster. A natural. He stepped in last year and didn't miss a beat after missing more time. He only faded to to conditioning. His start was never a problem.

I think , as usual, we as fans grossly over estimated the talent on the line. (Hardy and Gregory aside), and I may get killed for this but I think Jerry did the same with giving Crawford that deal.

Before I go about burying this DLine, I'd give'em a chance to work together first.

And we're three games into the post-Crawford new contract era and the guy's a bust?

Really?

Really?

who said he was a bust? questioning a 10M a year deal isnt the same as saying he's useless is it?

He hasn't played any football in over a year except some preseason time this year wher he didn't exactly light it up. All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up too high for these first few games back. And same goes for McClain as well.

Last year McClain hadn't played for almost 2 years, and he did pretty well his first few games back. As well throughout the season.
So why can't 2 very good athletes and game changer types do the same this year. You may be surprised.
I am not expected a dominant type performance, but a decent game from each sure helps.

Though I am disappointed in Lawrence so far these 3 games. I know he can't do it all himself. but obvious he needs that threat form the other side for a good pass rush. Has he even had many pressures yet. I have not noticed. I still like him and think he will be very good. But also feel he should have done a bit more so far too.

McClain played in the preseason some last year, which gave him a chance to get back into the flow of the game. Now, maybe he's one of those players who can come out of the weight room and onto the field without missing a beat, but I'm not expecting it.

I think his only limitation will be if they don't play him right away. If so he'll make an impact against Gronk and the rest of the cheaters.
