These are assistants to the assistant coaches. Glorified interns. It's an extra hand to help out the team while giving them some coaching experience.

So they work for nearly free and you think this somehow disputes my point ?. We had assistant d line coaches last year also- these guys have no experience at all. Not saying it won’t work but it’s been reported merry wanted to scale back the coaching staff and he’s done so.

In terms of saying these guys are glorified interns - I’m willing to bet you even in this limited role they make more a year than many posters here

I'm not sure what your point is. We didn't spend big on assistant-assistant coaches ... but they make more than most people? Which is it?

I think the bigger thing is that coaches worth anything dont want to come here for 1 season if MM were to get canned.
Exactly....100%
MM can only guarantee a candidate 2023........
It's likely why MM Brian S are the OCs. The standard contracts for new coordinators are 3 years.

The point is that Jerry set out with a goal to condense the coaching staff down immensely and cut salary in that dept. he started by firing Philbin who made over 2 million. He’s hired a few assistants like chinyoung and now Floyd with little experience. The less experience you have as a coach = the less salary you get paid.

Schottenheimer who has experience isn’t calling the plays and has less duties than a normal coordinator so he’s probably getting paid less. My point was exactly what I said that Jerry has allocated most of the coaching money to Quinn. Which is fine and this philosophy isn’t far from the organizations free agency approach….bargain bin shopping hoping you can get similar results as higher paid players.

What was your point ?

At least he‘s not a retread. He may be a good hire,

I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
