The only way I care is if they are adding a lot of real money into this.

If it is a simple restructuring and pulling more guaranteed money to keep him happy, fine.

The Saints re-worked Keenan Lewis where his 2015, 2016, 2017 salaries were $2.55M, $5M & $5.5M to become $4.8M, $2.75M & $5.5M, with the same overall $13.05M through 2017.

I would hope that is all they did.

I wonder if they are going to have to go through this again when he runs out of money. It sets a bad example IMO.

Something tells me JJ told him not to bother coming back again until this deal is done...just a hunch.

To all yall that said my boy was silly & selfish for going to the company that employs him and having a conversation about his worth, I say I am so glad the front office doesn't think like you. Oscandalous is happy and that bodes well for one side of our secondary. Love seeing this. Great move Cowboys!

That makes since. NOT.

They could have made that a bit more clear. Adding $9.5M and one year does not equal $20M. Was the original last year of the contract worth $10.5M? If so, I don't get how the extra $9.5M and 1 year is something Scandrick settled for. What's the point. He could have just waited then signed a contract with the Cowboys or whoever else, for more than 1 year and worth quite a bit more overall.

Clearly, this is a twit tweet as it doesn't explain any thing about the deal.

Right. If they added a year and restructured, to satisfy him, and help the cap then fine. If a pay increase even if restructured, and helps the cap, fine with that too. But if adds money, no restructure, no year added. How many other players will eventually do this too.

It was the right thing to do for Scandrick.. I also think they did it because they know they are about to ask Carr to take a paycut and you can't just go around asking players for paycuts and not paying guys more money when they deserve it.

Leary making 500k a year is a joke. That guy can move any DT in the run game.

I wish we'd try to sign him to an extension. OL injuries happen and what a player he would be to have as a backup.

He's probably worth 3 to 4 mill a year on the open market though so I doubt he'd sign here on the cheap.

I almost wish Collins would play RT because I believe Leary is a better football player then Free.

I tend to differ I think it opens up any other player under contract to do the same. If there is a clause in the contract that allows you to renegotiate fine but as far as I know that was not the case. If Scandrick did not like his last contract then don't sign it. As for Leary he too is under contract and unless he sits there is no option and frankly sitting out a year is not an option. next season he is a RFA so Dallas still some clout.

What is done is done, I expect Scandrick to go out and produce at a high level with bigger money comes more expectation

Dont see why, very different situations/Markets.
If he is rational, he understands what the snag is, the Thomas and A.J. Green situations. It is fairly obvious that the Cowboys do not want to set the market. I don't blame them either and neither should Bryant.

What OScan got will not be in the same stratosphere of what Dez will get....has no bearing on Dez, whatsoever IMO.

It's crazy we haven't got the Dez contract done yet.

Hopefully we see Dez's deal get done in the next week, Carr restructure, and a Adrian Peterson trade in the next 2 1/2 weeks.

I really think fans are more worried about the contracts of Bryant and Carr than the team or the players themselves.

and a Adrian Peterson trade in the next 2 1/2 weeks.

Every. Thread. Without fail.
