Yeah, real reasonable for a guy who hasn't had a postseason win since the 11th grade.

Now Ian rapport is saying no deal is imminent.....

@RapSheet: Doesn't sound like #Cowboys plan to immediately sign any of the safeties they worked out: Michael Huff or Will Allen. Means no Romo ext done

I wonder if it's crossed his mind that they just don't want either of them.

Appears this has been all speculation b/c of the free agents coming in to visit & no actual substance.. Funny how a couple of writers throw something against the wall & hope it sticks on twitter, & it gets you guys going every time.

To be fair, you are just speculating that it's all speculation.

All I know is they have brought in players to talk for all we know they could be telling them they are interested and seeing the type of contract the player is seeking and letting them know our interest but need to clear cap space. Cowboys indicated they are not rushing out to sign FA.

So right now all we know is the Cowboys are looking to deal with Romo and Spencer and in doing so will create some room and we know some FA players have gone to Valley Ranch

Well it's obvious a deal is close for either Romo or Spencer if they are bringing in free agents, but I am saying that appears to be the only reason the media is throwing stuff out there & they have no actual source that says a deal could be announced at any time.

I think Dallas gives Romo a contract in which it gives them an out after a couple of years if Romo has had any better post season success.

Of course until something is done with Romo and Spencer the Cowboys will not be signing anyone and no doubt the assumption is things must be close for the Cowboys to be bringing in FA for discussions. When these deal are done is just a guessing game on the media part. If anything the FA who are going to Valley Ranch for interviews is interesting because it gives us some indication of the player and position the Cowboys may be trying to fill.

Not if they want it to be, you know, signed.

I doubt it since the Cowboys believe Romo is part of the answer to playoff success not part of the question. The question is do we have all the other pieces it takes to have playoff success, and hopefully the answer is we've got to fix this offensive line.

Sorry, but a guy with one postseason win since 11th grade doesn't deserve that kind of money.

He needs a loser equivalent base salary with big incentives if he ever wins anything. Don't like it? See ya.

It's not matter of what you think he deserves, it's what the market bears and his can get lot more money as a FA than what he can get from the Cowboys.

So throw out some numbers, rather than being vague.

If the numbers are anywhere close to what is being reported, then I think we are very lucky indeed that Romo is giving us a huge discount. I agree with the poster who said Romo could get way more if he hit the open market.

How would such a ridiculous contract even be worded?

You know it's bad when we have people quoting freaking Gil Lebretron and his beyond juvenile "11th grade" comment. I think ol Gil even brought out Romo's draft position from a decade ago as well.
Just low life stuff with no relevance to today whatsover.

Only with Romo do people try to dig up stuff like this. For all (as in 100% of)D-1 QBs you would have to go back to high school to find playoff wins anyway. It's bottom of the barrel garbage.

I've never seen Romo as the greedy type some want to make him out to be who just wants to get everything he can get moneywise out of playing football. I do think he wants to be treated fairly, though.

Contracts are you know designed, with a lot of the money in the 2nd or third years, he will be well over 30+ that's just smart business.
