Judging by the comments I've seen the last few weeks it seems like we have become Browns fans. Except just a year ago everything was looking right. Everyone was high on the Cowboys and talking Super Bowl. Now we go to this season. We got injuries, and suspensions and our whole season has turned into turmoil. I'm bummed. I really thought this was our year. Instead I'm disappointed again. The way this forum looks though reminds me of that film "Major League", except those were Indians fans, not Browns, but their fans seem to have the same sentiment. I'm not going to link "Sad Browns Fans", but our fans look in the same boat right now.

Cowboys are out. I'm hoping a KC Chiefs vs. AZ Cardinals Superbowl.

/They should bid on getting a clapper on the sideline.
//Will go sleep off my tears now

Quite a few people were often disappointed last year too. They were usually told to quit whining since we were 12-4. For example, I was disappointed with our performance in quite a few of our big wins. I didn't think we should've needed to make a historic comeback to beat the Rams led by their backup QB. I didn't think we should've needed to go to overtime to beat a bad Texans team that we dominated the entire game. I didn't think the epic Seahawks battle should've been as epic as it was since we dominated them in every phase and still needed a minor miracle to win. A few other games where we left the other team in the game for far too long : both Giants games and the Eagles game we didn't lose. And those are our wins I'm talking about. And then I didn't think we needed to get lucky to beat the Lions in the first round of the playoffs. I also don't think we would've stopped Rodgers from beating us in the final minutes if the Dez catch did stand. Not to mention, we had a pretty pathetic start to this season before Romo got hurt. But people don't wanna hear criticism when we're winning. But then when we start to lose and people start to criticize, we get the classic "Where were you when we were winning?" argument... I'm not saying a lot of fans weren't on cloud nine last year. But I'm also saying quite a few of us have always been critical.

This may be the season that Cowboys fans get a taste of what it's like to be a Browns fan, but unlike the Browns, the Cowboys don't live in the NFL cellar year after year. Our Cowboys will be back on top someday.

The Cleveland analogy is not a bad one. When Tony went down, we were exposed for being "the Browns ...but with an elite QB" team that we have been for the better part of a decade. The reliance on ex-Brown super-bust Weeden, only makes that comparison stronger.

......and the comparison will get stronger when the cries for bringing in Johnny Manziel in the offseason return.

The Browns main issues over the years have been poor management and their inability to find a franchise QB. The Cowboys problems have been poor management and not having a solid head coach. The team has had the QB and enough talent around him to be a contender year after year but hard to develop a great team when you're trying to develop your head coach who has no business being an NFL head coach. When you have a team that's had consistent QB play over the past decade and it's only led to 4 playoff appearances and 2 playoff wins the finger has to point at the management and the coaching. The Cowboys appeared to be on the right track building a great team last season with some of the main cogs it takes to be a great team having a franchise QB, RB, WR and TE along with a great OL but they screwed it up.

They allowed arguably the teams MVP last season who was a perfect fit in the offense to walk away because they thought any back could produce behind their OL. What was the strongest part of the team last year became inconsistent forcing the Cowboys to scramble having to make several moves at the RB position during the season. The lack of a running game helped cost us Romo who had an MVP caliber season last year. The teams backup QB who was praised during the offseason by the coaching staff was a failure in replacing an injured Romo as has been the QB they traded for. Our 3 areas of strength last season RB, QB and WR became areas of weakness this season which put the defense that still lacks talent on the field too much.

Now the Cowboys are stuck without a solid RB or backup QB and Romo's career is up in the air after 2 collarbone injuries cost him most of the season. With him aging and suffering injures every year he's not likely to ever play a full 16 game season again. Dez hasn't been the same since his broken foot and who knows if he will ever be the player we saw prior to that injury and signing his big contact. Jerry has been adamant that Garrett is doing a great job despite the contrary so the Cowboys future looks pretty bleak right now.

The Browns have played in a historically tough division, just like the Cowboys. Of course there are exceptions here and there, like this year for the NFC East. Outside of that, I really don't see a great deal of similarities.

The Browns have a losing culture. It is bone deep at this point. They simply don't know how to win. Players going to the Browns expect to lose. That is not the case in Dallas. Even as the star fades a little, people come to Dallas expecting to win and do big things. Even in losing seasons, it is a culture of winning.

I have been pretty down on the team this year and down on the coaching and front office for the last several years, but I really hate these comparisons.

Sadly, this is what we are reduced to... Aimless reflection on hope for a bright future. This is when you begin to realize how far we are away from that last Lombardi trophy with no quantifiable hope in sight.

I couldn't say next year we'll be in the running because frankly, we are that bad right now. But, without quantifying how much longer it will be, I have no doubt it will be sooner than it will be for the Browns. Sadly, this is what we are reduced to.

Culture of Winning ? --- Its a culture of Delusion, entertainment, drama, and being avergae, all the while, collecting huge profits for the franchise....

You've been waiting no longer than the rest of us older folks that already have a good comfortable chair. Preaching to the choir.
