I dont to pretend to know the tactical workings of the org, I am simply viewing the history of the Jerry-led Cowboys over the past 25 yrs at a 10,000 feet level. This vantage point is accessible for adult fans as well as children (who btw, wont tolerate losing for very long).
This 10,000 feet view has no regard for winning the nfc east or regular season records. We are (or used to be) the gold standard of winning nfc championships and super bowl championships. This view for me has never changed from the Landry era, the Jimmy era, to the present. Deep playoff runs are all that matter. You cant mk deep playoff runs every year but 25 yrs is a hell of a drought. Since the only constant over the past 25 yrs is Jerry, thus the conclusion. After all, are'nt nfl GMs accountable for the lack of deep playoff runs?
We are all fans, and I respect your opinion and criticism, so my view from 10,000 feet might not be one that you like or respect. Just remember I still judge our franchise the same way I always have, whether it was Landry or Jimmy who was the championship architect. We should all hold the Cowboys to the same gold standard of winning that defines championship excellence: deep playoff runs. Hoping this yr will be different. 25 yrs is an eternity to wait to win a measly div playoff game but hope springs eternal.
