I bet once we get the details. There will be voidable years on the back end. To spread that cap hit out a bit.

Sounds like you were right, along with a massive signing bonus. Should be extremely flexible after all

nfl.com says 42 mil per the first 3 years for a QB that has failed miserably for 5 seasons. Jerry is a idiot and the Dak worshippers are jumping for joy. They will be miserable as Dak folds next year and the years after just like the last 5. This is a Jerry ego move and total mismanagement. Will be fun watching and it looks like it will be at least a 30 year drought. Jerry is going to get all the misery the SOB deserves.
22 for the 1st year.
Logistics dictate (I seriously doubt you understand, but...) changes every year on the cap hit and the future, but you keep on keeping on.

Exactly. The only person “moving on”, is the gimpy Qb that got paid. His worshipers think they’ve won something but the reality is that every week when he plays the microscope will intensify

They now have to defend him and his bloated contract......we aren’t moving on as the fun is just about to begin

This is going to give me four years of priceless laughter. I can’t wait for the season to start now.

Big to differ... 2014 & 2017 squads were just as good.

The 2014 defense was still crap. Ball control offense kept them off the field.

Do you mean 2016? Same story behind that d. The only other year I can say Dallas had a decent d was 2009.

75 million in year one.

does that mean it is only 28 million hit to the cap in years 2-4?

No team has ever won the Superbowl paying their QB more than 14% of the cap.
What a stupid stat.
Guess what else. No team has ever won a superbowl with a male cheerleaders. Buckle down they are coming. Just ask Washington and Philly.

Great. Now Dak can take his foot off the gas, like the other "stars" on this team who've enjoyed mind-boggling paydays.

Lmao. That’s like 9 million more than Goff. That’s a starting safety and guard. Way to go Jerry.

Laughing at yourself for proclaiming so many time how Dak would never get paid by the Cowboys.

61 QBR, 4.6 YPC, 0 TDs and 1 INT when down in the fourth by 7, meaning when the game is on the line and this guy gets paid the second highest in the league.

Gallup will likely leave in free agency because he's going to want to be paid as a 1 or 2 and Dallas has Lamb and Cooper.

Williams will likely leave in free agency, too, because we've got McGovern to replace him as a starting guard.

LVE and Gregory will likely depend on how they play vs. the price to keep them. We paid Lawrence big money two years ago. We paid Elliott big money last year. We paid Dak big money this year. If anyone on this team is deemed worth it, we'll pay what it takes to keep them.

Agreed. But you want to extend them while they still have at least 1 year on their rookie deal left. Waiting until after their last year is not ideal. As we saw with Byron.

The Jones are bigger buffoons than I thought. First, 10 years of Garrett getting paid millions, to this mediocrity at QB...

But believe me, as the Ls pile up I’m going to be enjoying such a comically idiotic move..

Wow. That is huge. Now go spend some money on D for once. If there’s anything left!
1st year, I say no.
2nd year, we'll see.

I think 2nd year will be better for that.
Both draft and cap-wise.

Before you ask: they'll push the cap hit forward that year too.

I hear that! They are going to have to shut this forum down when this team goes 8-8 with a 42 million dollar QB. I'm gonna be looking to bloody some noses in this forum.

Best case? The same defense is returning and there is no guarantee Dak will even play this season. How is any of this remotely 'best case'? Is Dak so great he's going to overcome the worst defense in the NFL all by himself?

Dak better win MVP at least three out of the next 4 seasons or this was a massive mistake by Jerry.

It’s best case because it gives up cap space to sign defensive starters and focus on a defensive draft.

As opposed to spending a premium pick on a guy who may or may not be a bust
