$42M per season (first 3 yr) for a QB with 1 playoff victory, no all pro and no MVP.

It's easy to be a "team first" guy when your wife is worth $400 million. Tom's $263 million is just spending money.

Somebody needs to start Dak a Go Fund Me . I have no idea how he could have possibly survived on anything less then the 2nd highest paid QB ever.

No fan of Jerry's but I think he held out for the fourth year and got it.
I hope so. The idea of Jerry completely caving and Dak being completely inflexible makes me sick to my stomach and almost to the point that I hope they don't win another game until the contract is up. But you have a point, Jerry originally wanted 5 year deal and Todd and Tad wanted a four year deal, so if France and Tad counted last year as the first year of the deal then Jerry did get his 5 year deal.

Worst GM in sports

$40M on a BUM
nfl.com says 42 mil per the first 3 years for a QB that has failed miserably for 5 seasons. Jerry is a idiot and the Dak worshippers are jumping for joy. They will be miserable as Dak folds next year and the years after just like the last 5. This is a Jerry ego move and total mismanagement. Will be fun watching and it looks like it will be at least a 30 year drought. Jerry is going to get all the misery the SOB deserves.

We are officially the dumbest franchise in the history of the NFL. Even a no trade clause. Wow, the Jones are the biggest idiots on this planet and exemplify the garbage GMship the Dak-stans were telling us about for the last few months.

The No Trade is even bigger. Handcuffs the Cowboys ability to replace Dak. Sure, we could find a QB, but we'd still be paying Dak.

Its a 123 million guaranteed likely with a 66m signing bonus which basically makes him untradable (as the signing bonus stays with you) already. Getting replaced was not in the agenda.

Might help if the Cowboys put something more resistant than a turnstile on the other side of the ball. They're not going to 40-39 their way to anything.

If the offense can get the running game going like they are supposed to be doing anyway, that should help the defense rest, perform better late in games and have less wear and tear for later in the year. I've always believed in having that strong offensive line and running game to wear defenses down. Nothing is more sweeter than having 20+ yard runs into the endzone every game. I'll take that over sacks, bad throws, dropped passes, INT's, false starts on passing downs etc, etc.

In guaranteed money it's "only" an average of $31.5 million per year. Excellent point.
The only way to get out of paying all of it is to cut him after year 3. That makes it a 3 year 126 million dollar contract. 42 mill a year.

I don't agree. It's up to him to do his job. There have been plenty of great quarterbacks who didn't win Super Bowls because their teams simply weren't good enough. Wins and losses is not a quarterback stat no matter how much people try to make it one.
Not concerned about other great QBs and their teams in the past. Prescott is getting compensated beyond being adequate - above adequate - good.
Need stellar play from him going forward once the FO fields a very good team around him.

Can't see us signing Gallup. Drafting Lamb gave us the option of moving on from Gallup w/o worry. We still have 2 WR#1s. We should cash Gallup out into a pick or two and shift those resources to other positions with greater need. I *hope* we move away from 3 WR, and go with Pollard as the 5th man instead.

Williams, maybe if he comes cheap. He had a good year on a bad oline. He may have turned a corner. That would be a big tell that Jerry expects a booming cap, and just wants to lock in as many contracts as he can.

A bigger tell - if they try to lock in a guy like Awuzie for a few years. Down year for cap off a down year for Awuzie. It's a buyers market on Awuzie right now. Giving him a multi year contract is announcing that Jerry expects the cap to boom.

In terms of importance, Gregory is next.

I agree with you on Gallup. I've been on the trade Gallup train for a while. I'd try to trade Gallup for at least a 1st. I think we can get more than that for Gallup. He's the easiest to replace in the draft as WRs are frequently available in the draft. Unless the WR is elite, then, just as with a RB, you can just trade and replace them in the draft.

I don’t get this.

You just signed your franchise QB to go with a loaded offense. Team loves him, city loves him. We now have CAP room to sign a few starters.

This is best case and then some.

Goes without saying the defense must improve significantly.
However --#4 got the mega big bucks he wanted.....therefore it is on his talents and leadership to lead the team to a sixth SB Trophy.
The defense must improve significantly....... it's on Daks shoulders?

HE DOES HAVE TALENT AND LEADERSHIP. Seriously?

He's shown that. You need 50 PPG?

Good Lord.
