I like you referencing the 1 QB that signs for less and would never sign here.
Outliers are fun for arguments.

I'm not advocating for Dak, but I am advocating for a realistic view of the landscape, as it is.
Because Brady is literally the perfect example of "team first". He's not a "me" guy has had the most successful career of all time.

Why should I even bring up anyone else?

Good for Dak and good for the team. Glad this is over, but also dread how haters will be even more irrational in their 'criticisms' because the dude got paid.

Defensive Tackle
Safety
Cornerback
Linebacker

That's a lot of needs to be hit and nailed in the draft quickly
This is repeated every year like we'll find starters or really anyone of significance outside of the first few rounds. Draft defense, usually means you may get one starter lol In 4 years after drafting our D, they will need new deals and our QB will need one too?

Worse contract in Cowboys history. 4 more years of mediocrity at best.

The microscope will intensify even more?
It's already on +100,000.

How much more can it get?
Not much more, honestly. Blind, raging hate can’t really worsen.

I wonder how long the guy you quoted has been working on that response? He had to know Dak would eventually get signed and what could he do to dampen the other side’s revelry?

The best he can do is to tell people that the “scrutiny will continue!” Kind of an impotent response... but really, what else could he do?

I almost feel for the guy.

Gallup, LVE, Connor Williams, Gregory, several others as well. Pretty much anyone still here from the 2018 draft. Are they going to replace them with all rookies over the next 2 years? I really don't know.

Gallup will likely leave in free agency because he's going to want to be paid as a 1 or 2 and Dallas has Lamb and Cooper.

Williams will likely leave in free agency, too, because we've got McGovern to replace him as a starting guard.

LVE and Gregory will likely depend on how they play vs. the price to keep them. We paid Lawrence big money two years ago. We paid Elliott big money last year. We paid Dak big money this year. If anyone on this team is deemed worth it, we'll pay what it takes to keep them.

They won't cut unless he completely falters.
They'll definitely make further deals to spread the wealth though.

Not saying they will, just that they can if he fails to live up to the franchise QB title. It's likely that if he is, they will completely redo his contract after three years to lower those late-year hits and set it up where they can again cut him during the final few years for a cap savings.

Me? I want a defense and maybe we can get those things you have listed.

It's silly to think just because a quarterback is high paid that he can deliver those things. No quarterback can without a good team around him.

Dallas got this done. Now, it has to focus on building a defense.
Goes without saying the defense must improve significantly.
However --#4 got the mega big bucks he wanted.....therefore it is on his talents and leadership to lead the team to a sixth SB Trophy.

This really was big for the entire team. They just couldn’t go through another offseason with this hanging over everyone’s heads. The players love Prescott and it needed to be settled early. It was.

Now, they can do more in free agency and the team can focus on getting ready for 2021.

I'm asking you the same question.
Why bring up the outlier of all outliers that would never come here?

I don't agree. It's up to him to do his job. There have been plenty of great quarterbacks who didn't win Super Bowls because their teams simply weren't good enough. Wins and losses is not a quarterback stat no matter how much people try to make it one.
