Cowboys are in the worst position financially and personnel wise I can remember

The Cowboys are in a horrible state where they are and will be paying several players Top Pay but the team has not and will not achieved any success.
Currently we are paying the Top QB salary, $60 avg to Dak.
2nd highest WR to Cee Dee ($34).
We will be paying Micah the Top DE salary, $35-40 avg.
We will need to resign Aubree who will likely demand and deserve the Top Pay for Kicker, $7 avg.
Tyler Smith is eligible for an extension and will likely and derserve the Top Pay for OL, $21 avg.
It is hard to remember a team paying so many players the Top Pay of their positions and the team has not had any success.
Most teams that pay player like this because those players helped them achieve great success.
We have these "Top Players" but given the lack of depth on the team, all this money will be for naught because having such financial commitments will prevent the team from bringing in additional talent to give the team a chance at capitalizing on having these Top Players.
So we will pay all of them and like many other of our past Top Players since the late 90's, they will likely not achieve anything of significance.
Yes, it's called GM Jethro.

Losing isn't a good feeling and puts us all down on the team. However, another way to look at it is we've acquired some great players among the top at their position which is why they're now being paid. For the Cowboys the last couple of drafts haven't yielded a lot of immediate impact players and they have to nail this draft to find guys that can be instant contributors to replace the mid tier guys that may not be worth paying.

It makes absolutely no difference what conference Jeanty played in. He took them to the college playoffs and could have transferred anywhere in the country. You are ridiculous.
30 carries, 104 yards,

Sub par coaching and overall scheme does that.

I don't want to hear the talent overhype next year we have a mid ranged roster, and it's looking to get worse.

Activate written-in clauses in Dak and CeeDee's deals and the Cowboys gain over $60 million of cap space.

The Jones Boys only want you to think they are poor. They sell "low cap space" to fans as an excuse to not spend and upgrade the roster and people still believe them.
Yep. Extend Micah and this year's hit reduces by $10-plus million. There are other redos we can do as well. Fans buy this excuse every year while other teams that are contending keep finding ways to add free agents and keep the players they want to keep.

Kansas City has the top paid DT at $31.75 million AAV, second-highest-paid TE at $14.3 million AAV, a QB with a $37 million cap hit this year (after a restructure from $58.7 million), a G with a $26 million cap hit, a SS with a $14.2 million cap hit. Yet after retaining their own key FAs, they signed Marquise Brown to boost their receiving corps on a one-year deal for up to $11 million (far more than our front office will spend on outside FAs). Now, that signing didn't turn out quite how they hoped, but they showed despite all their expensive players they had enough room to sign Brown and were willing to try to improve a position in FA.

I don’t think naming three top paid players means they are in the worst shape financially. They can move money around.

You can argue an opinion that Dak and CeeDee are overpaid or that Micah is going to be overpaid, but your comment seems to make a judgement on the actual commitments to the cap without understanding how it can be managed.

Will they do it the “right way?” So far, they haven’t, but just having a couple of highly paid players doesn’t make it one way or the other.

As an example, the Eagles, who everyone gushes about, have three players in the top three spots at their position,

It’s about how you manage the money.

If we had a competent front office managing the cap there would be zero cap problems. And worse, the Cowboys aren‘t in as bad as shape financially as they say.

Bottom line: the teams that have the most playoff success, going to and/or winning Super Bowls use the salary cap AS A TOOL TO WIN, NOT A ROADBLOCK TO WINNING.

Good backs and a good running game gives them a good foundation.
Yeah, and the LA area could have used fire hydrants with water flowing out of them, but because of STUPID decisions made by stupid officials they're dealing with issues that can't be fixed water. The Cowboys are in the same boat, because of lousy ownership decisions, a good running back and a decent O-Line aren't going to fix the issues that have pledged this organization for decades...............STUPID still has the upper hand over the Cowboys.

Lol

No Mountain West Conference running back is going to walk into the NFL and be even an average NFL running back as a rookie. Particularly behind the Cowboys’ offensive line.
