Yeah, I kind of don't agree on most of this, to be honest Catch. What's the worst thing you can do if you are a QB? You can't throw the ball away but the problem is that you can't expect any QB to come in and be on the same page with your WRs if you haven't had time to actually work with them, which was the problem with Dalton IMO. I mean, it is what it is. Dalton is not going to just throw it up and you can't really develop that trust in a couple of games so I think that's a big contributing factor there. However, Dalton is not a top QB in the NFL and he never has been IMO. But, he is a starting QB in the NFL and there is not a lot of difference in results between he and Dak at this point. So it's simple, you can give up a contract you really can't afford or you can go cheaper and develop a young guy.
