Actually, my reason for "calling him out" was the ignorance of his response... I didn't really care all that much about his use of hyperbole there, I found it silly but not annoying... what I found annoying was his profanity-filled response to the criticism, even as he acknowledged that he "exaggerated"...

I didn't like that, so I gave him a piece of my mind... just as you didn't like what I did to him, and are now trying to give me a piece of yours...

Whatever you say man, all I'm saying is, if someone curses or you don't like someone responding with verbal lashing, then why should you even become involved in it? Two wrongs do not make a right. No, you did not use colorful language but you knew when you responded to him, that you were just going to make things worse.

As for the use of hyperbole who the hell do you think you are saying in what form and in what context hyperbole could be used. Reed does have nearly 4 times as interceptions as Hamlin does but moreso hyperbole is often used to display strong feelings or to strike home a point. sarcasm may be all that you are capable of conceiving a use for hyperbole but that does not make it so.

You didn't like what I did to Canuck, and are now telling me about it...

So, how exactly is what I did any different from what you're doing NOW?? It seems that you have one set of standards for yourself, and another, stricter set that you expect me (and presumably, everybody else) to adhere to...

I have already gone over this within the thread and really have no wish to chew the same mouthfuls. I am not a cow and can't regurgitate a cud. If it offends you that I thought it was ridiculous, then it offends you that I thought it was ridiculous. I suppose I will live with your derision of it. I believe I will exercise my right to state things as I wish. I frequently do exactly as you do and jump on posts I find to be ridiculous. Should I find some pet peeve against your methods so we are even? Or can you live with my methods?

If not, thanks for a lot of great debates over the time we have jawed with each other. Oh, and I have always been irritated at sloppy grammar, spelling, and stuff like text message speak. It didn't start with me writing a book. My apologies that it offends you. I have a great many offensive habits. Honesty is one of them. I actually value and respect intelligence. That is why I have always taken our discussions as enjoyable even when we are sparring and completely disagree. My apologies. It is a habit I probably will not lose.

Exactly, I was trying to say this as well. This isn't an english literature course at Yale, it's a sports forum and someone can use hyperbole's, oxymoron's, or metaphor's however they please, and if SB, Hos, or anyone else doesn't like it, kindly ignore the person, politely respond and agree or disagree, or just look the other way.

Yes, I really do think it is easier to appear intelligent if you make some effort at it. It's like the f-word. I didn't know so many things were capable of intercourse.
