Cowboys cuts (A. Glenn) *Merged*

I can't believe the outcry over Aaron Glenn...the guy gave up some big plays last year. He's old and doesn't support the run well at all.

If we're expecting to put pressure on the QB, then it makes more sense to me to keep the younger guys...When we're in the nickel, I'm just as happy with Reeves or Jones out there as Glenn at this point. They probably also figure they can pick up CB's who get cut that will be every bit as good as Glenn and cheaper.

I think it also says that TNEw is expected to be back soon, even if it's not for the Giants game. Would you really want to keep Glenn just for that game? They have to look at the bigger picture, imo.

I don't have a problem with any of the cuts. I especially think it would have been crazy to keep the young QB. We'll probably resign him to the practice squad, but if not, rest assured...QB's just like him at this point in time will be available for the practice squad even if he gets signed...Frankly, I see no way in heck he'll get signed to someone's 53 man roster.

I like the fact that Phillips isn't hanging onto every aging veteran who's game is going downhill out of some fear of rookies. He prides himself in putting players in position to make plays...let's give him a chance.

Very nice post!!

Glenn can be resigned tomorrow w/o his contract obligations. There will be lots of choices from the cut list today and the best way to put brown and Ball on the PS is to wait 48 hrs before cutting them.

Good point. My pacemaker kicked back in and I'm feeling better now.

glenn cant be signed tomorrow, it has to be next week. After the giants game.

Honestly from listening to him talk I dont think he would resign here after getting cut, but I hope he does.

Watch that @?!$%$ Belichick decide AG can do at least the niche job the injured Troy Brown was doing!

pete hunter got released from seattle

Like someone said in a different thread....unless we play Parcells 16 times he won't help.

Glenn isn't as big as a surprise to me as it was to keep 10 OL. I had thought we would cut either Berger or Proctor but according to the rumormill the Jets were interested in both so maybe there is something of a trade cooking.

Terrible point because it is incorrect.

Wayne, I think the intent is indeed to sign Moore to the PS.

Call me homer ...but after watching 50 odd preseason games in four weeks, I haven't seen ONE purely developmental QB (as in UFA projects and late round picks) with Moore's poise and arm.

I AGREE

I salute you for watching 50 pre-season games. That sounds painful.

there has to be something up with this, like a trade or something, because i read earlier somewhere that marcus spears was looking to be traded for a CB
