Could be keeping 4 TE's, as maybe Hanna is not 100% yet. And / or, they are trying to trade him.

Bottom two or three guys on the roster should not unpack their bags just yet. In fact they should be sweating bee-bees.

I'm going to wait for a more credible source than Fisher's desperate guesses to be first though. We have been through this with him before.

I'm sure it's been asked answered already, but if someone signs a players from our cuts, does that player have to go on their 53 man roster, or can they stash him on their practice roster?

I just don't see anyone signing a guy like Efe Obada who's not close to being able to play, but someone like Gardner could make a team with DE issues

Didn't we lose to Colt McCoy last year?

That game cost us home field advantage in the playoffs.

and Dallas could have signed McCoy as the backup. He wanted to play for Dallas. Why they went with Weeden makes no sense. Weeden is actually older than McCoy yet has less experience.

Showers and Vaughan are both better than Weeden.

There are a few things about who will make this team that I'll never get.

Keeping Weeden and then the one that makes utterly no sense at all: Keeping Nick Hayden

If a player clears waivers (is not signed to a 53 man roster within 24 hours) then that player is a free agent. The player can then sign on as a practice squad player with any team. It is the players choice if he has more than one practice squad offer.

Once a player has been signed to a practice squad, another team can only sign him if it is to their 53 man roster.

They all stink at the moment but Showers may be a credible 2nd or 3rd stringer someday.

Efe is signed to a 3 year deal. He is ours.

If they claim someone during the 24 waiver period, then it must be to the 53.
If it's after waivers (so cleared waivers) then it can be for a PS slot or a 53.

Weeden was a first round draft pick, and there was a time (hopefully passed) when that quality alone gave Jerry a warm and fuzzy. Why he's STILL here is another story (and one I don't really get).

He's cheap and "knows the playbook."

I'm a little surprised w/ the Vaughn release.......

Yeah he had a bad pre-season. But the Cowboys didn't do him any favors by trotting out him out there to watch him run for his life. Vaughn needs to send a thank you note to RJ Dill, Weems and Gibson.

:lmao2:
