Don't bother my friend. Some Cowboys fans are like a wall. Like I've stated in the past, I talk to Ty Law from time to time and he already told me what he thinks about playing safety and I've relayed the information to this board. But they would rather listen to a no name writer's opinion and to be honest, that article was awful and anyone who knows Ty Law would think the same. You think Law gives a damn about being reunited with Bill Parcells? He could care less. He's going to the highest bidder so unless Dallas is ready to anti up some big money, you can forget about it until another fan site with no sources prints a story saying Ty Law is coming to Dallas based on nothing more than pure speculation. I'm like 5-1 on here with my info and this is the surest I've been out of any of them. Ty Law is not coming to Dallas. Please, I know it's the offseason and you have nothing to do but I'm begging you all, move on from this. It's not going to happen.

No offense man, but I think your lying about this Ty Law business....it's already been reported by his agent that he'd consider free safety.

I'm just how do u know Ty Law? Are you personal friends with him? Do you play cards with him on tuesday nights? Casual acquaintances???

Just because you claim to have heard this from him and posted it hear doesn't mean everybody here is going to believe it.

I could say that I talked to Drew Bledsoe himself and he told me that the cowboys are going 16-0 and that he's passing for 5000 yards but it wouldn't mean it's going to happen now would it? :laugh1:

Law is worth $3-5 mil a year, nothing more at this point....and I want sign him immediately for that price to bolster our secondary and add true big play potential!
I don't think Law will accept that kind of money. He wants double that amount.

Supply a link where anyone in camp Law said he'd play FS, ANYONE.

I have seen the figure 10 million in guaranteed cash several times, which is not exactly FS money now is it?

Again most people thought he was coming here.

Sorry bud that is a fact. SI named Newman All Pro and stated mater of factly that he was the best cover corner in the NFL last season He average givng up 2 catches for 20-25 yards per game and 0 TDs on the year. Nobody did better. These are facts.

Luckily our top 3 are able to start

Oh since SI said it must be true...And I am against Law coming here, I dont think it will happen but never say never I believe is what he is saying...

I mean I would like to sign law to a 2 year contract, but he is probably looking for something around the 4-5 year range. And he is simply too expensive. And we already have too much money tied up in the secondary.

As much as I would like to get free safety settled before the draft, that simply isn't an option at this point.

I agree with charles on some things and I agree with the other sides argument on things...But I will say I dont care what Si said T-New was not the best coverage corner last year....One of the best but not the best...And I see certain people going towards sarcasm, criticism, and juvenile insults, and it is quite ridiculous...I dont care what fact sheets, or what past facts, history, people or Mods can bring up..It is all irrelavent...this is a new year and anything can happen...we are not professionals...Si can say one thing, another can say something else...Mods can be sarcastic and rude during a conversation for no reason, but that is there parogative and this is there domain...But I have noticed something since being on here that if you dont go with a certain way of thinking your ganged up on and insulted by the members and some of the Mods...Quite frankly this is the best Cowboys forum I have been to, but when it gets to this factual theory headlights in the fog bull**** people comparing TO to other players...Just cuz he dissed Mcnabb(oh no) he is so different and has had more problems than Irvin, or taylor or whoever...Not really relavent....Football history really has no relavence...Law coming here in my opinion is possible but not at all probable,...And I would take the word of a top 5 wideout over SI anyday...but I am not taking your side Charles...only agree with some but not most...I agree with only SOME of each sides views,...but most in the middle is all bull**** on both sides...I guess this post will put me in trouble but I am semi drunk and tired of people whining, trying to throw facts the media, or internet stats, or SI mag or anything they read or hear around...And just cuz the jets fans say it is so, is it really? Just as we say t-new is the best does everyone else agree? All questions, but all the answers just as meaningless as the question...so really none of us are right and none of us are wrong cuz we arent Bill or Jerry or anyone else involved and we just dont know...

Last year Newman was thrown at 66 times and allowed 28 completions (42.4 percent) for 308 yards and no touchdowns. He intercepted two of those, deflected one to Dat Nguyen for an interception and had another interception off a pass tipped by Bradie James. The Cowboys' coaches credit him with 15 passes deflected, while NFL.com says he has 17 ----From Adam

Name another CB who had this good of a year?

Who knows where this article came from, but I definitely agree with the writers thoughts and back him 100%.

We have to remember some key things here:

1) Ty Law is still better than any player we have in our secondary right now (yes even roy williams).

2) Unless you believe that Keith Davis or Private Pile are the answer, than we must agree an upgrade is sorely needed.

3) Just because we have never dealt with the Postons in the past, don't mean we never will....things change in the NFL, and just because Parcells don't want to deal with them don't mean JJ won't at some point if it means securing one of the greatest secondary players of all time. Remember though, Parcells drafted Ty Law!

4) He's not going to get the type of money some people are speculating ($5-10 mil a year) from any team. At this point it might be incentive laden, and I wouldn't have a problem agreeing to those terms.

5) The guy has 3 superbowl rings on his finger and is a proven veteran leader, something Newman or Henry aren't yet. 10 Int's speak for themself, how many did this entire secondary have last season???

We can't afford to fall asleep and let another NFC team sign this guy....Let's get a deal done Jerry! :starspin

Okay I don't know if you meant to put this or not, but I assure you Ty Law is not better than every player we have in our secondary....not even close. I honestly would much rather have Newman, Henry, and Glenn at Corner than Law. The reason for this is Newman and Henry are both much younger than Ty Law, and Glenn cost about 1/5 of what Law would if we were to try and bring him in here. Plus Law has NEVER said anything about playing Free Safety. This article is absolute pure speculation. The cowboys cannot be linked to Ty Law in any way whatsoever except for the fact that Law use to play under Parcells. That in no way whatsoever means he will come here. I am so sick of hearing about Ty Law it is unreal

I posted those stats before our final game. By my count, Newman's final stats were 30 catches allowed out of 70 attempts (42.9 percent) for 320 yards and no touchdowns.

During the final six games, he allowed five catches out of 20 attempts (25.0 percent) for 56 yards -- which is 0.83 catches for 9.33 yards per game. During that stretch, he faced receivers such as Steve Smith (Pro Bowl), Torry Holt (Pro Bowl), Rod Smith (Pro Bowl), Santana Moss (Pro Bowl), Plaxico Burress (1,200 yards), Amani Toomer and Isaac Bruce, and they COMBINED for two catches for 11 yards against him.

So what you're basically saying - is this TNew guy is pretty good?

Adam, you know of any sites that list stats based on where a guy lined up? i.e. how he played in the slot, on the right side/left side....

How did he not make All Pro? Those stats are phenomenal.

Makes that one idea of moving him to the slot and signing Law even more foolish.

Titans | Law would like to play in Tennessee
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 07:39:47 -0800

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports agent Carl Poston said free agent CB Ty Law (Jets) said the Tennessee Titans are one of the teams his client would be interested in playing for next season. "Tennessee is a quality organization and they could use a quality corner. He would solidify what they've done in free agency,'' Poston said. "Obviously the situation there is something we would look at if they need some help at the corner spot, and he could also play free safety.''

Ty Law will play wherever they show him the money, including free safety. With Safety and Corner stacked this draft we don't have to get in the Law sweepstakes now.

Ko Simpson and Jimmy Williams two players to watch on draft day.

For everyone stating how great Ty Law is because of his 10 interceptions this year - didn't Anthony Henry have 10 ints his rookie season?

A 32 year old Ty Law who has some chinks in his armor is not an option at FS unless he is willing to play for 3 mil or less.

And he isn't willing to play FS for 3 mil or less, so this thread should go away.:banghead:
