Cowboys did make offer for Sheldon Richardson

Sounds like something Jerry would do if he felt his team were close. Whatever the offer was, glad we tried, glad we didn't overpay.

Looking at what we have offensively we're not that far off we just need a better pass rush. Not being able to get to the QB especially in the fourth quarter is what will eventually do us in. To get through the playoffs you have to have a pass rush especially late in games.

Fans make me laugh.

Richardson is a top shelf young starting lineman. If we got this same player in the 1st or 2nd round of next year's draft they'd be writing love letters to Will McClay.

But today. After we didn't make this trade. It's "Glad we didn't give up a 1st or 2nd."

Yeah. That would have sucked.
Especially if he comes in and makes our defense top 10 and helps win a championship this year. I have no problem spending money or picks on upgraded players to help the team. Why others don't feel the same is mind boggling

I'd have gone as high as a 2 since we flush those down the toilet on draft day anyway.

Someone bump this is J. Smith ever plays worth a darn.

It is virtually impossible to trade Romo.

The Cowboys would have to cut at least a dozen players in order to "eat" the immediate cap hit.
that is 100% wrong......they would've saved 5m this year by trading Romo and 10m next year with the rollover

I think they just don't want to sit through that round in the draft and not have a pick. If the trade was made when we were on the clock people would love it. He's a beast. Worthy of a high pick. Especially considering it looks like we're going to be picking in the bottom half of those rounds.

Even if we offered a 1st rounder for him it would be well worth it. Besides our 1st rounder will be the 32nd pick in next years draft :)

It seems worth it initially, but then you have to turn around and try to sign Gregory, I mean Richardson, to a multi million mega deal. I'm not signing any player who has several suspensions to a multi million mega dollar deal.

So do you want to rent a player for a second round pick? He doesn't even begin to address our biggest need.

3 years isn't a rental

this year 1m
next year 8m
third year 13m franchise tag

if he holds out you trade him or let him lose a year

He would have been a great pick up.
If the team had aaron donald, lorenzo alexander, marcus peters, and von miller we would be unstoppable. Just 4 players. Only 4

Damn after two years I'm still adamant on getting Aaron Donald. If there is some way he can play in Dallas might entire existence in life would be set.

We traded a 5th round pick for Matt Cassel, I think it's safe to say we offered better than a 4th or 5th.
The Cowboys sent a 2017 fifth-round pick to the Bills in exchange for a 2017 seventh-round pick.
