Cowboys did not have 1st round grade on Taco

I'm convinced at this point that the fan base is never satisfied. The truth is we don't know how any of the guys are actually going to turn out. The clubs can only make their best educated guess. For all we know Taco Charelton is a HOF player and Myles Garrett is out of the league in 3 years. Could be the other way around. All I know for sure is that the Cowboys got a DE, that's the position I wanted them to fill in round 1, and I hope he works out.

I have always felt that grading players as 1st round, 2nd round, etc and doing it the same way every year is unbelievably stupid. That goes doubly when you are picking at the end of the round.

If Taco was the 19th player ranked on the board but we passed on the 17th then who cares? If there are 6 more corners in your top 60 then the decision should be very easy.

Hey man you need to stop like you know making sense and logic!

We are made that we prbly took a 21st overall player in a position of need instead of the 17th!!!

I would be upset if there was still a stud CB out there and passed on him, but......there is not. Some good ones but no stud. If Conley was sitting there at 28, he would be moving to Dallas.
How in the hell would you know?

This just sounds dumb to me, real dumb.

Why do you have to open your mouth and tell everyone who your going to draft....that's why the Falcons jumped ahead of us today.

Someone needs to tell him and Jerry to shut up. Its like playing poker while showing your hand. Now someone might jump us tomorrow for a CB, cause they know exactly what we will do.

Dumb, don't have as big of a problem with Taco, but that is dumb. Most teams, you have a general idea maybe, but not us, we tell everything like idiots.
Maybe because everybody already knows.

I would have been all over Foster or even

Ryan Ramczyk

Now I love the Taco pick even more.

This draft class is so deep at CB that there wouldn't have been a huge difference between the CB you take at 28 and the one you take at 60. We're talking about the difference between a guy like King/Awuzie/Tre'Davious White and someone like Moreau or Tankersly. Minimal difference.

There would've been a bigger gap between Taco and the best available DE at 60.
Exactly correct!!!

See, now this pisses me off.

If you aren't taking a 1st Rd player over a 2nd Rd player, wth are you doing with that player on your board?

that is the problem with picking at 28, they were determined to get a DE , so they went with bpa of need, not bpa.
They should have traded up or down.
As it is they didnt get a rd 1 player at all, but a high 2nd rd player, that they will be paying rd 1 money.

The patriots and seahawks both traded out of the 1st round for more picks later.
They were in the bottom like dallas.
If you cant get a true rd 1 stud then trade out for a extra pick.

Taco may work out, hard to say, but being a rd 1 pick and money then he needs to be a full time starter year 1.

So you take a lesser DE and then a lesser CB and think that is good?
That is drafting on need not bpa.
And they are showing they wanted a DE over a CB, or bpa.
But hopefully mr taco can play and start this year like a rd 1 should.

What a ridiculous take. You don't jump values by a full round. Period.
Doubtful that it was a full round difference though. Likely had the corner as a late first round pick and Taco as an early second round pick.

Just because one was before the cutoff for the first round and one was after that cutoff, doesn't mean there was that much difference in the grade.

your right. Dallas is easy target. It shows Jerry is more intrigued with transparency then having a competitive edge. I think every draft analyst pretty much said before the draft that a team would jump ahead of Jerry and do this. Almost comical when it happened right on queue.

I mean, I agree with you that the team needs to say less for the most part... but I don't think I heard one single analyst say that and I read/heard a lot of them.

I'm not saying you didn't hear it but every one of them?

That's the truth. Just look at Ezekiel Elliott last year. As great as a prospect as he was, there was a ton of people here that said it was just stupid. Hell, even as great of a rookie as he was, there are still people here now that call it a bad pick.

If anyone wants a consolidated grade for a draft pick... this definitely isn't the place to be. We're all over the place on every pick. Even the 7th rounders sometimes.

The Boys are already negotiating Tacos contract, how shrewd!
