Cowboys don’t need to beat Saints

If they want to make any noise in January they need to beat the Saints. If this team is as good as the homers say they are, they need to beat the Saints.
They aren’t as good as the Homer’s think. Usually never are.

The Rams couldn’t beat the Saints and they could still make some noise. This win will only bolster our ego and confidence . If we don’t beat the Egirls it won’t make any difference.

I just hope they get out of the game w/o as few injuries as possible. None would be the ideal

Attrition is underrated yes. I wouldn’t go so far as to rest key players but we are young and tough especially at QB. Other QBs more frail.

Every game is a must win if cowboys want to be serious contenders. Hope they lose though so dak, JG, and Scott linenhan can be traded away.

Bring in Jameis Winston and this team next year makes the superbowl.

To win the division.

The Egirls next week will go further in determining the division.

And if we sweep then we’ll only need a couple more wins regardless what they do.

Beat the Eagles and 9-7 will be enough.

The Cowboys can lose to the Saints 100-0 and still win the division.

Once the playoffs arrive everything changes. Injuries heal, injuries happen to other teams, etc. The Cowboys are a young team. Many young players get better with each game.

This would be a good test tonight, if we win the division and make it to the post season it's possible that we see these guys again(with any luck).

I disagree. We need to win every game here on out until Feb.

Eagles/Colts will not roll over for Dallas if we lose tomorrow

Very possible that the eagles beat the Commanders, and likely Dallas loses to the Saints.

In that case it's a 3 way tie, record-wise, for first place.

Assuming we lose, a loss by either the skins or the iggles doesn't really help Dallas, skins lose then Dallas is ahead of them, but tied with the eagles, but we get to play the iggles again so we have some control over what happens from here on out.

But if the skins win then we're tied again with them, though ahead in division tie breakers, but would need to beat the iggles and midgets to assure the division record tie breakers.

A win by Dallas tonight would help but I'm not even looking at that as a real possibility, and in that case really this week's games, as far as the division goes, aren't going to determine anything...

A win tonight would be one of the biggest upsets ever, NFL-wise, not just Cowboys-wise.

Why?

Well other than the Saints putting up huge numbers, per the current stats the Saints are number 1 in the league against the run, which is what Dallas has to do to win the game. While the Saints defense is 30th in pass defense, Dallas is only 28th in passing, meaning they probably can't take advantage of the Saints poor (by the numbers) pass defense. Of course the Saints poor pass defense ranking is mostly because they put up so many points their opponents have to pass like crazy to try and keep up, and with enough attempts you can get lots of passing yards and still lose the game,

I just hope the Cowboys keep it close, having to come to work and go into the area here in Saints land if they get blown out will be miserable...

I think we do, well at least it will lower our chances. If we lose and Eagles win, then both are 6-6 and going head to head next.....if we win and they win, then less pressure on us to win head to head.....

No. The COWBOYS need to beat the Saints to prove to those Egals who we are. By doing so, we have the division. The Egals still have another blowout game left when they fly to L.A. :lmao2:

No it wouldn't. Cowboys upset the Saints in '09 at the Superdome when the Saints were 9-0. The Saints won their first SB that season.

My thinking is we’ll both be 6-6 next week and will need to sweep Egirls or our season will be in jeopardy.

I've had this pegged for a blowout since the schedule release but I started feeling good about this game earlier in the week.

Then DeMarcus Lawrence ran his mouth. I wish he would have kept the talk in the locker room.

Yup, I've already looked this over and came to the same conclusion.

However, to keep this team playing well, we must play them hard and close. A blowout would really dishearten this young team, IMO.

Cowboys were 8-5 in 2009 before that game, had Romo in the prime of his career, 5th rated passer in 2009. This team is 6-5 with the 19th rated passer. 2009 team had 9 Pro Bowlers.

Saints are the only team to have beaten the Rams this year, Dallas has 1 win over a team with a winning record, that the 6-5 Commanders.

Can't use a game from 11 years ago to compare to this game...

You don't get the luxury to pick and choose the teams you win against. It's the next team up.

The eagles know who we are already, the team they have to beat when they play in the next few weeks to have any chance at all at the division crown...
