He was impressive in the pre-season and TC before his knee issues came up. And he was a pro-bowler a couple years back in Marinellis scheme. It's too bad, but he definitely had a chance to be much better than a JAG

If I recall correctly supposedly Taco and a couple others look pretty impressive in TC and preseason.

Those aren't really panning out so far either.

Every year we hear about how someone is impressing in preseason/TC (Especially TC) and generally we're left very disappointed by their play when it matters.

The exception being Dak last year.

Well he was beating Zach Martin in one and one drills which no other tackle was doing (other than Collins). Broaddus, Mickey and Helman all said he had the makings of a very good lineman. Too bad.

Paea never made a Pro Bowl in his career.

And that's fine.

But I never was too hyped because you can't get to hyped with what they say about guys coming out of camp.

And with the way the whole O-Line has taken a step back this year it actually makes me wonder more about why Martin is playing poorly, then why he looked like he might be something.

It sucks that he didn't get the chance to get on the field and show if any of that hype was going to translate but it is what it is.

They have Lewis Neal (who is more of a 3-tech) and Richard Ash on the practice squad and could sign either or both to the active 53. Ash is 320-plus pounds and looks like a 1-tech, but he was moved too easily in the preseason. They might look outside the organization for help.

Ash did play a couple of games last season. I rather promote Neal who is a better pass rusher and just go with Collins for now. Irving looks like a starter at 3T. Crawford and even Taco have some position flex and can sub at 3T. Taco for one could have a better future inside as he looks too slow outside.
