“We had a neat little deal set up,” he said. “It was going to be a nice pick for us, too, if it would have worked out. It’s probably not fair to share, but it was something that was real close.”

Jones said the Cowboys would have traded a future pick, not a 2013 pick.

“We got the rug pulled out from us about two picks away at the bottom of the third,” Jones said.

Is SJ trying to make himself feel better? We coudve? We should've? It was a "neat" :))))))) Is anyone feeling better about Stephen running the show after Jerruh. The bottom line is we got jobbed in the early trade just like we did last year. This time we let a divisional rival take advantage of us.

Depending on future pick had it been Trai Turner I would be happy with that

Would bet it was Will Clarke. Either Fisher or Broaddus kinda hinted about this last night right after he was drafted.

My guess Trai Turner who would have been a nice get. Glad they have all picks intact for 2015 they. Got a feeling they are gonne need them.

I think they on the hook for a 7th to Indi for the Selvie deal.

The fact they didn't get Clarke I think puts Crawford at SDE and cancels any notion of having him gain weight for playing 1 tech. So the real issue is the 1 tech position.

That they wanted to give up a draft pick (likely next year's second) is telling. They have been tossing around the idea of putting Crawford at 1 tech and that had to be part of the thinking here, otherwise you are loading up a position yet are willing to give up a 2nd round pick.

Who were they targeting

im actually guessing. But i know it wasnt thomas because he was a comp pick and wasnt schofield because he was the last pick before comp picks. Turner was there a few picks before the end of the round. And dallas had interest in him. Makes sense to me
