Personally I hope the new OC comes with a "bad cop" "in your face" attitude when dealing with QB Prescott. I know MM will not do that....he is a softie. And Jones and Son coddle Prescott and treat him like he is a member of the family for life. Those two think all they need to do is pamper Dak. Prescott needs coaching....coaching that will make changes in his game.

For those thinking Mike McCarthy is going heavy run, that is never going to happen. MM is a passing guy, he specializes in QB play. Prescott will continue to sling it, sadly.
Dak will be slinging it, but it will be more horizontal to spread defenses out...the idea is to get the defense minding the edges than hit them for long gains down the middle, either by the pass or run. The running backs and tight ends will see more passes...Pollard is the perfect RB for a west coast offense.
What I hope to see is Dak under center more, taking 3 and 5 step drops and throwing on time, going through his progression ( one, two, three) if not open check it down. The west coast is about rhythm and getting the ball out quickly.

So what exactly is the problem ? He’s had 30 years to get the players. He’s in charge of getting the players. So who is at fault then?
Free agency and the salary cap has been the biggest problem. He didn’t have to deal with either when he built his great 90s teams. Those teams got torn apart by free agency and the salary cap. Having to pay QBs 40+ million dollars per has made a difficult on everyone. The teams that have made bold moves the past couple of seasons have ended up in the Super Bowl. The Rams went all in with great players, and won it all in 2021. The Eagles went after some great players this past offseason and it’s paid off. Jimmy Johnson said it comes down to the players. He said the only reason he won championships and is in the Hall of Fame is because he had great players. The Cowboys don’t have good enough players. Our QB certainly wasn’t good enough when it came down to crunch time.

I mean, they certainly spread the ball around well enough under Moore as well. I just don't think that's the problem.

Bro. The salary cap has been around for 30 years. Either learn how to win with it or find somebody else that can. I don’t know what you are trying to say. You are defending Jerry based on winning without a cap. Well there is a cap. So he sucks at his job the way the rules are now. Those rules aren’t going away. So what is your point ?

Look if your going to hold your HC accountable then let him pick his guy... how is anyone shocked by this. I blame Jerry for the price of bread but i highley doubt this was anyones call but MM's as it should be.
Remember Mike Nolan?

Not a lot of people can win with the cap, look around the league. The Rams went all in, in 2021 and look what happened to them this season. They lost a few players in free agency, and a few players to injuries and it rendered them a losing team. It wasn’t the coaching or the GM. It was the lack of quality players. One of the biggest problems I see with the team is continuing to go after cheap, average players in free agency. Our top free agent this past offseason was a jag who did nothing and ended up being cut. This is one area where the Joneses have failed big. You can’t go trade away one of your best players and replace them with a lesser player annd expect to build a great team. You can change assistant coaches, all you want, but nothing is going to change with the team until we hit on some better players.

Yes. What you fail to understand is that the person who can’t find these better players is still in charge and until that changes the end result won’t change. Find me another gm that failed for 30 years that still has a job.

FIRST OFF WHO CARES what anyone thought, want to debate how bad hire this is , lets talk in January 2024.. Umm ok..

many of you called for a terrible 2022 and all these same types of post happened all preseason the first week of the season etc etc and we actually had a better season than anyone precited and managed to get game further.

results can only be debated AFTER the season in question.

NO, its not, moving on.. like i said a giant anti team sentiment from every post is not making anything you say valid. Hyperbole, opinion, dramatic responses and just flat out making predictions that are not true..

this in fact is a new staff has been since 2020 and in flux, if anything MM has not rid himself of Jerrys Guys that were hold overs from Garett's staff. as it should be BS is not Jerrys guy its MM guy who has right to hire and use anyone he feels will be plus going forward as its his seat thats hot NOT yours or Jerrys..
Yeah, remember the practice vs the Broncos? The doom and gloom in here was beyond comical.

It didn’t. I know exactly what you were saying and it was stupid.
Stupid because you can't understand it.

Imbeciles were saying that Quinn was gone....forgone conclusion.

Now those same imbeciles pretend there is some revelation because we have Schotty as our OC in name only. They were also insisting that McCarthy wouldn't call plays....

What you fail to understand is a lot of people can’t find these better players. Like I said look around the league. At least the Cowboys had enough talent to have back to back 12 win seasons making the playoffs both years. We just won a rod playoff game for the first time in 30 years. Our situation isn’t as bad as some fans try and make it out to be. I would prefer someone other than Jerry Jones as the GM, but it wouldn’t guarantee anything. There’s a lot of teams that replace their GM’s every few years to no avail.
