Signed by Cowboys Cowboys hire Eagles secondary coach Christian Parker as DC

Well it seems the deal is done
good luck to the newest recruit in the Cowboys Clown Show

I get it that agents might talk with front offices but actually having a face face interview is really risky

It’s part of the tampering rules that Flores got fired over when he refused to talk to Brady while he was under contract.

The Dolphins lost a first, a third and paid a bunch of big fines and the owner was suspended.
OK

Interview:
1) Will you relay the defensive calls from Jerry?
2) Will you agree with Jerry making your draft picks? But taking blame if they fail ?
3) Will you give Jerry any and all credit for any success
4) will out hang a picture of Jerry in your office and provide it daily offerings?
5) if you answered “no” to any of the above, the interview is over please gather your belongings and go somewhere else. If yes to all, proceed to the final question.
6) will you take a ton less money to work here?

are you just angry that you weren't a nepo baby and you just hate everything about them even though they didn't ask to be a nepo baby???? The hate is incredible.

That’s what you got? I don’t like BS. That’s it. Hope that helps, chudly.

I’m torn! Seems like a good young hire whose on the rise but he’s also a young hire that we have zero info on regarding how they’d be as a DC. But better than many on list
Daronte Jones offered a LOT more experience...having been defensive coordinator at different points in his development/career. So if it was between Parker and Jones...Jones was hands down the guy to get. Parker has never been DC at any level, so what you have is a guy learning on the job for a team ready to win NOW.

I'm hoping for the best but there is something to be said for experience.

You didn't interview them.

This idea that experience is the end all be all us stupid.

I don’t see this as a Jerry hire ! Which is good !

Congrats to Christian and his family for getting to work with this talent. It is a dream come true.
He will find things a bit different without Surtain and the two Eagles first rounders.

It's not stupid sir. It's smart. Neither of these guys are "retreads" so your argument is dubious. Between the two, Jones seems like the better guy. Single, film-room junkie, lives for football...actually was defensive coordinator at different points (except at NFL level). Parker has very little experience. And that matters at some point. The last thing the Cowboys need is a coordinator "learning on the job"...for a team that wants to win NOW.

I'm willing to give the man a chance but Jones was probably the better hire. From his interview notes..."future defensive mastermind". There was a "comfortability" factor for Jerry Jones reportedly. And when you keep making important decisions with comfort and not competence in mind, you continue to hamstring your team.

bingo, in 2003 when he wanted Parcells, I remember fans of other teams demanding he meet the Rooney rule, so he interviewed Dennis Green who said yeah it was a real interview (he knew it wasn't) and Jerry didn't care. He hires who he thinks is best, usually wrong but that is a separate issue
The Rooney Rule was a NFL PR joke and always has been

probably would have gone for Jones; but the more I dig up about Parker the more hopeful I feel; not really optimism but hope

Dude. You can research his career. It's not hard. Less than a minute. Compare the two side-by-side in then honestly tell me that Jones doesn't have more experience...even being a DC at various points in his career.

Notes from the interview:

Very Impressive
Very Detailed
Matter of time until defensive mastermind
Impressed
Efficient Communicator
Confident
Surprise of the search

You’re right.
