The owners are the bigger problem, but they aren't going anywhere. Ever. So as a fan you can only hope that the fan base can show how unhappy they are with *player* and hope that they make a change.

My guess is if the poll was anonymous you'd probably see even more people saying "no," some of them are just so dug in they are going to defend no matter what.
What I’m saying as a result of our owners is our hope should be limited .

I'm really surprised there are any fans on the zone that still support Jerry but they're still out there. They just live in denial. I guess it's easier than to accept the truth.
And they are the ones always buying into the hype. But we had more critical fans who bought in too.

The truth is brutal. Most people can’t handle the truth in their ordinary everyday lives.

I think you give the chargers defense too much credit. Although they are coming off a bye and have had time to make adjustments and watch plenty of dak tape. Not to mention a OC who knows our QBs warts. Their HC could be sacked with a loss. With a loss our playoff hopes are over and MM is on the hot seat.

Yep. But again, they aren't going anywhere so your options are find a new team or hope they make positive changes.
No, you stay with your team . That’s what being a Diehard is all about.

I’ve followed my Alma Mater all my life without much if any hope.

Don’t need hope to be a fan. You just adjust your mentality and expectations. Rooting for a less successful team simply isn’t as much fun.

I wouldn’t say 3-3 means it’s over. If it continues to slide then we’ll see.

It’s amazing how quick fans are ready to close out the season when its likely 9 win teams make the playoffs.

I've got this game going either way. Their defense hasn't been great this year but they have 2 game wreckers in Bosa and Mack (6 sacks last game). They have an elite talent at QB, McCaffrey Light in Ekeler and Keenan Allen is always open. Won't be shocked to see us stagger into the bye at 3-3.

No doubt it’s a very loseable game. But we aren’t as over matched as in SF. I see LAC as a more evenly matched game.

We should be able to stay on the field with them . But it’s a game I wouldn’t be surprised to lose . Prob come down to final possession. I’m hoping our defense will rise up.

If the defense doesn't rise up we have no shot.

Wait until the in locker room blaming starts … it probably already has honestly. But take Dallas out of it, usually that happens with any team going through hard weeks, you just have to hope they handle that part well or this can go off the rails quickly. Defense blames offense , offense blames defense… etc

The reason people fall for the hype is because they want to believe like Mulder does in ufos. They want to believe because having no hope really sucks. I was guilty of it again despite knowing deep down inside. The AZ game and now this game has been the stark reality check that hope is a foolish thing to have as a fan of the Arlington Jonesboys.

It amazes me the reaction after this loss. Like we need to totally scratch and start over.

It’s obvious how much too many fans bought into the SB hype and one of the best teams in the league. When will this foolish casual and wagon fanbase learn to pump the brakes until further evidence is provided.

Cowboy fans have been so deprived this era of more success are desperate to finally have built a true contender they grasp at the first sighting and allow themselves to be suckered in not only from our owner who relishes in generating the hype but the mediots who compound the problem.

This team had so many concerns coming in with how this new offense would develop, the health of our OL, the depth of our RB’s, not having a star TE not to mention other issues.

The overall selling point this season was that our defense could become an elite caliber carrying this team further than it had been. But there were concerns as well like could we finally stop the run. Had we actually found the answer up the middle in our defense. And the season begun with dominating fashion with one hiccup in the desert .

But many of us warned or cried out to pump the brakes until we faced a legit contender. The offense was struggling in the Redzone not needing to do too much with a defense setting the tone leading the league in turnovers again.

The horrible upset loss in AZ should have sent a shot across our bow that without the defense dominating we had some issues offensively. I think fans just assumed that McCarthys new Texas Coast offense would naturally be better than Moores offense. And our lopsided wins fans didn’t dissect much further.

This loss to SF didn’t surprise me at all. Nor most in my close circle of local Cowboy friends. What we did take away is the Gap has widened between us from last year. And we , at least at this point , aren’t a SB contender which basically supports what we had suspected.

The good news is we are probably closer to what we saw coming in . A 9 or 10 win team fighting for a Wild Card slot with one of the toughest schedules in the league. This happened a few years ago when we begun the season 3-0.

Our hope was our defense could make a difference carrying a lesser offense this year, one that in recent years had been top 5-10 with roles reversed with a top 5 defense carrying a lesser offense.

Now that reality has set in fans who had bought into this hype are reeling. They feel a total reset is needed. Perhaps some serious tweaks do need to be made. But none some of us had already warned about . It amazes me how this one loss has totally reversed these fan’s mentality. It just solidifies how much they had bought in.
Nice post. Honestly did people really think we would take that big of a jump from last year. When we lost to cards I knew it was the same team. And most NFL teams are like this. We showed flashes last year on Defense that we could be good. Our Offense has power to score.

But niners game was showing me that we are still predictable at Offense. Dez called it after the game. He said we throw everytime we are in shotgun and run everytime we start under center. Some of our pass plays the receivers break at the same time.

And the way to beat our Defense is to run and pass at Parsons. We get no pressure with out Parsons rushing. Quinn is going to have to bring blitzes and run blitzes.

Simply the niners game got away from us. Third quarter it’s 17-7. We do have the team to come back. When you’re playing a good team at that point your Offense needed to show different looks and get aggressive and it’s a risk of a turnover. And your Defense has to get the ball back and stop them from scoring. We did neither. And once it starts getting worse then you take more chances. It snowballed on us. We need to change things up because we will be playing them again in playoffs.

Quinn needs to work some magic and MM better get with schotty and change some things to be wayyy less predictable.

Pardon my ignorance but what is “ Moulder does in ufos” ?

But yea, no or less hope does suk. It’s always more fun winning. But following a losing or less successful team is what being a Diehard is all about. Albeit why I chose the screen name Diehardblues.

But our casual and wagon fans across the country were attracted by our earlier era success and why they either abandoned or looked the other way from their local or regional team,

This is the same kind of talk I heard after week 4 of the 1992 season. C'mon, let the season play out.

Our main problem, and I don't know if we'll overcome it, is our crap offense. Or should I say, average offense. They don't play well against good defenses, nor are they particularly good in the redzone. So many moving parts to an offense I find it hard to pinpoint the cause. But I know one thing, there is one position that will never be able to drag us out of a bad situation. Absolutely zero chance. I don't even want to hear about the D. Our offense was putrid.

Believe it or not, our fan base isn’t as crazy or bipolar as some in the media or even on here portray. From my experience of living in another city, Kansas City, and listening to their fans, we are on par with everyone else. I think it was two years ago some fans wanted to trade Mahomes because he was struggling.

Fans are just hopeful. The season isn’t over just yet. Although I personally don’t think we can ever get there because one position and one general manager currently holds us hostage.

Maybe
But if we don't absolutely destroy the chargers defense we're toast.
A nine win season crawling into the playoffs is not a success IMO.

What other team this year lost to the 49ers by 32 this season? The 49ers also "beat no one" going into the game. This was the game to determine the leader in the NFC, no excuses. Losing I can understand, but to be thoroughly beaten up and embarrassed on the national stage is very concerning.

The Cowboys never got off the bus and are deservedly the laughingstock of the NFL.

This is a fair assessment. A number of us have said as much over the last couple of years. However, a lot of fans here come back with, "Ya but, we were 12-5." They wouldn't listen to talk about how weak the NFCE was and our schedule toughness. We have an established pattern of this now. All fans should be able to recognize Jerry's MO now. Sure, we are going to have some stinker years. However, it's those 12-5 type years that all the hype begins and fans go crazy without them realizing that this is as good as it's going to get with Jones boys leading this team. This is all Jerry is ever going to be every to accomplish.
