Insee nothing more than backup plus STeams. Remeber McCarthy said the roster must reflect how good ST will be

Jamal Adams last 2 years:
19 passes defended, 5 Forced Fumbles, 2 INT's 190 tackles, 10 sacks

Derwin James
14 passes defended, 3 INT's, 139 tackles, 3.5 sacks

Justin Simmons
19 passes defended, 7 INT's, 190 tackles

Minkah Fitzpatrick
18 passes defended, 7 INT's 2 Forced Fumbles, 149 tackles

Tyrann Mathieu
20 passes defended, 6 INT's, 164 tackles, 5 sacks

Jeff Heath
12 passes defended, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 INT, 148 tackles, 0 sacks

Not a playmaker.

You cut my quote off which took it out of context. I said Heath is the only player we have in the secondary that could be considered a playmaker. I wasn’t comparing him to other players around the league.

well with two bad shoulders i say we need a saftey inn FA or the draft

January 10th, 2020 at 3:13pm CST by Zach Links
On Friday, Cowboys safety Jeff Heath underwent surgery on his left shoulder, sources tell ESPN.com’s Todd Archer (on Twitter). Heath dealt with pain in both shoulders throughout the year and he may still require an operation on the other side.

top free agent safeties this offseason include Justin Simmons (Broncos), Devin McCourty (Patriots), Anthony Harris (Vikings), Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (Bears), and Tre Boston (Panthers).

The GOAT... lol

I love the angst this guy somehow generates among part of the fan base... smh

Dallas' defense provides almost zero pressure up the middle
and rarely move the QB out of his set spot, but nooooo, it's gotta
be the one guy at the back end of the defense that's the problem.

Dude came back, with two injured shoulders, and played better
than his backups that fans so badly claimed to be better than him.

An upgrade is necessary, but I hope they keep him on the roster.

Team leader. Special teams captain. Can be a really solid 3rd safety.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. He's a player that has value. He's certainly not going to get big money and his contributions would be challenging to replace.

No issues here. Better backup/rotational guy than a starter, but he gets a lot more hate than he deserves.
I don’t get the hate
He’s a good depth player who can help on ST
You get one or two new starters and have him as depth because he’s better depth than you are likely to get in FA or the draft

Team friendly deal it's a no brainier.....not sure why the hate for this guy, he's a very serviceable rotational player at the right salary.

Ugh - to top it off we have good ol' Jerruh saying that he expects Crawford back as well.

Looks like even with the new regime that we have to keep that wonderful "continuity".

Heath should be our floor at both safety spots then we need to find some guys with a bigger ceiling.

Nothing wrong with either Heath or Crawford as long as they are used as a role player rather than a primary player at their position, and as long as the salary is right.

Was hoping he would get a shot to play for another team; hopefully a SB contender looking for quality back up player.

Here for proof he’s a great ST player. He’s awful in the secondary and STs. The myth lives on about Heath on STs.
