I remember when the Cowboys almost drafted him.NFC EAST
Dallas Cowboys: S Karl Joseph
2019 team: Raiders | Age: 26
There were rumors surrounding the Cowboys wanting to add Joseph at the trade deadline last season. That move never materialized, but now they can add him without having to send any compensation to the Raiders. Xavier Woods has played well at free safety for the Cowboys, but they could use someone like Joseph at the team's other safety position. Joseph is a player whose best role is in the box; he has picked up PFF grades between 67.6 and 74.5 in each of his four seasons with the Raiders, but he has earned a grade of 82.2 for his career when lined up in the box. They might not have pushed the button on the trade for Joseph, but it makes sense for Dallas to go after him in free agency.

I remember when the Cowboys almost drafted him.
I'd still prefer a ball hawking FS.
..lol.. oh man, dont say itWeek 1 starter at safety. Guaranteed
I was genuinely excited for Wilson. Thought that was a great pick. After he got hurt, it was like the Cowboys forgot all about him. I'm anxious to see him this summer. At the least I expect him to make the 53 and even see some action in nickle coverages.I hope that there's still interest. Having said that, I'd like to see Donovan Wilson get a legitimate shot at it as well. I still have no idea why a playmaker like that never got an opportunity.
Then again - Garrett...

It's not just keeping Jeff Heath. It's keeping him, starting him, drafting Taco, drafting Hill, drafting an injury waiting to happen player in LVE, never valuing talent over cost. When you add those kinds of decisions over 20+ years it's easy to see why this club is the way it is.
Jeff Heath isn't responsible for the lack of talent put around him.
I imagine he'd be quite improved if there happened to be an actual presence
at DT. Not to mention a LB that's not out of position.
The anointed Wilson couldn't get on the field. Thompson was so awful that
Heath came back early with both shoulders injured and requiring surgery.
Just sayin'.
He’s a part of that “lack of talent”
Blown draft picks way worse than any other reason. Hill, Gregory, Charlton. It never ends. McClay is not great at the draft.Blame Dak all you want, but bad decisions like this is what has kept the Dallas Cowboys from actually competing.
I get it. He's not a stud.
We got teased with Jamal Adams talk just before
the trade deadline last year and some are still stingin'
from that.
Perhaps if Dallas hadn't missed so badly on Hill and Taco,
Heath would've had an opportunity to make more plays.
(It's not like he had help from the LBers either.)
With all that said, I would like to see them select Xavier McKinney
unless a top DT slides down. The draft is deep at many positions.
DT is one of them. Dallas should get one in the second round, at least.
Even still, having a guy like Heath on the roster is a good thing.
Anyone that states he's "trash" or "garbage", etc. does not really
want to discuss football.
Jamal Adams last 2 years:
19 passes defended, 5 Forced Fumbles, 2 INT's 190 tackles, 10 sacks
Derwin James
14 passes defended, 3 INT's, 139 tackles, 3.5 sacks
Justin Simmons
19 passes defended, 7 INT's, 190 tackles
Minkah Fitzpatrick
18 passes defended, 7 INT's 2 Forced Fumbles, 149 tackles
Tyrann Mathieu
20 passes defended, 6 INT's, 164 tackles, 5 sacks
Jeff Heath
12 passes defended, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 INT, 148 tackles, 0 sacks
Not a playmaker.
What exactly has he lead this team to? Our ST have sucked for as long as he’s been here!
I hope that there's still interest. Having said that, I'd like to see Donovan Wilson get a legitimate shot at it as well. I still have no idea why a playmaker like that never got an opportunity.
Then again - Garrett...
This is the year our roster better step up. Fans have been blaming coaching for a long time now. With Garrett gone we will finally put the onus on the player. Its going to be must see tv.
