Old Broaddus on his podcast with Voch said hit the breaks on the Arizona’s coaches hire. So something must have hit a snag.

I'd try and poach my Central NY American Legion baseball teammate Brian Angelichio from the Vikings staff for OC.
Well, if we can't get him, we could get my brother's Eastern Potomac Central division whiffle ball coach's father... Steve Smallfranks from the Dell Tacos for OC.

Cowboys want aOC that is good with the run game, huh?

well we need to either get one high in the draft, or a very good free agent (would if been better to do this last year) because while Rico is a good relief RB he certainly isn’t a #1 if you are serious about the running game

Listen guys.

I dont care what this guy did at this team or job, i dont care about the stats with other teams. Each team is different. Results are hardly the same.

What we care about is two things, do they understand thier job, can they find the end zone. This has eluded many an OC in our franchise over the decades. They WILL NOT be brining the same talent, same schemes, same limititations. HOWEVER, they need to bring two things, do you know where trhe end zone is, can you get in it faster than Shingingstar wrecks a free buffet? If they cant, the stats from other teams wont matter, the talent they USED to work with doesnt matter, it will be a failure.

The other stuff doesnt matter.

I mean... sounds like you have the relationship. Set it up, Schotty will need all the help he can get

Schotty's stint as OC in Seattle (while OBVIOUSLY not perfect) yielded a 3-year average of 140YPG rushing.

All true, but here is the concern....

534 attempts for 2560 in 2018

481 attempts for 2200 in 2019

411 attempts for 1971 in 2020

For comparison that Cowboys this year ran 429 times for 1705. You also have to factor in that Wilson was still a dual threat at that point in time and averaged 5.6, 4.6, and 5.2 YPC respectfully and made up roughly 1300ish yards during those seasons which is unlikely to be duplicated by Dak, especially coming off the hamstring injury.

We need to ask why the rush attempts went from 534 down to 411 despite what seems to be decent yards per carry. Did defenses adjust and Seattle struggled to readjust as time went on? Was this a clash in style between Schotty and Pete Carroll? Ultimately the results for Schotty as a play caller seems to be a very mixed bag from the rushing data. I'd have to do a lot more digging to understand the why here, but having a run focus but not staying with it has been a theme in Dallas for a while, and from his time in Seattle is something Shottenheimer seems to be guilty of as well.
