Why would Foles want to be here?
He won't be the starter. Not the future. Can't increase his value unless Romo gets hurt.
He'll hold out for a better offer.
Because of actual demonstrated ability. The success is subjective and can vary based on circumstances.I'm always amazed how the same guys over and over again get jobs but others don't. The McCowns of the world...... Always there to steal someone's money.
MCCown has has 36 TDs to 19 ints over the last 3 years. As far as backups we arent going to many more productive playersBecause of actual demonstrated ability. The success is subjective and can vary based on circumstances.

That would be 47 and 22 for Foles though.MCCown has has 36 TDs to 19 ints over the last 3 years. As far as backups we arent going to many more productive players
McCown would be a trade of a pick. That is why Foles makes so much sense. But money may be a problem. McCown is actually making over 4 million currently.Just take whoever's cheaper. They're both equally bad. At least McCown has some recent success.
IMO what you want in a backup QB is a player capable of catching fire. Players who will never be top guys, but guys capable of getting hot for a stretch and playing as well as a top 10 QB in the NFL. Not a huge fan of Foles, however both Foles and McCown have shown they are capable of just that.Depends on which season you want to look at. He had 11 TDs and 14 ints. in 2014 between 13-1 in 2013 and 12-4 in 2015. In six of his seven previous seasons, he had more interceptions than touchdowns. (The one exception, he had zero of both.)
Of course, we can't expect to find a perfect QB as a backup, so I don't mind him, but I don't see him as a better option than Foles. Both are flawed, which is why they are backup material. (But both IMO are better than what we would have had in Moore.)
Not a fan of Foles personally but he has been productive. Moreso then McCown. That would be 47 and 22 for Foles though.
Neither is any long term awnser, so personally age isnt much of a factor for meFoles is younger ....... so that who I would want.
He's also a year older than Romo. I hesitate at older backups who's ability could drop off and especially when costing a pick and a 4 + million salary. I prefer to get the young guy that still wants to make a name for himself. Not a fan of Foles personally but he has been productive. Moreso then McCown.
My worry with him is has he regressed since his pro bowl season and is he still capable of producing. Thats why I personally prefer McCown as far as outside help. McCown had a bad 2014, but was relatively productive last year in Cleveland
For us Im not concerned with age. We drafted Prescott this year and I believe they will draft one earlier next year. He's also a year older than Romo. As far as trade, thats my catch with McCown. I wouldn't give up more then a conditional late rounder. On the condition he starts X amount of games. Doubt Cleveland veiws that as fair.
