And wait for a cut or take a look at another free agent like Yates or Matt Flynn. I'd much prefer that to getting pantsed by a broom feeder team like Cleveland or Tampa Bay because they know you're stupid and desperate.

You wouldn't pay Matt Moore $3.5 million for two years, don't pay McCown $4 million for one and give up compensation to do it. That's dumb.

You wouldn't "give away" Ron Leary before, don't suddenly do it now. That's dumb.

Can't argue with that.

Only thing that sucks is the first round of cuts isn't until after labor day.

Most likely the Chiefs will let Aaron Murray go sooner rather than later and it seems the
Jets are likely to part company with Bryce Petty before the season starts. We can get
some young blood to compete and just let the chips fall where they may. If Romo goes
down we are done and everyone knows it.

Problem is, they will have no idea how to run this offense when they get here. Need to get a guy here NOW!!!

And born and raised in Austin my makes him a good QB in what manner?

This dumb, Texas is the bestest attitude folks have is completely irrelevant to actual football performance.

Throw that out if you are trying to attract an older guy looking to close out his career close to family. Come on
Born in Austin doesn't make him a good QB and I am not a State of texas admirer. ( I have actually only been in the state itself 4 times in my life). He still has a pro-bowl appearance and has won games in the NFC East.I thought that him being from Austin might make him more willing to sign with us, I was wrong. I just thought he was the best option with the most talent. (Evidently k c thought so too.) I hope we find someone that can win some games if need be.

Tony Grossi is on Sirius and is suggesting Austin Davis might be a "compromise" target as he is getting 4th string reps behind Griffin, McCown and Kessler.

There are NO QB's out there available who can operate a Garrett/Linehan offense right now. Anybody they
bring in will have to learn it just like last year.

That is probably why they can not wait for too long. Camp is still young enough they could get someone in.

I liked him when the Rams released him. Thought he played well for them at various points, which is rare in St Louis. I especially liked what he showed in the game against us. Saw some 'moxie'.

I'd throw them a 7th rounder for him.

He played well a few years ago against Dallas. But then again, everyone does.

If you get a guy now he can have at least a month to learn the O, as opposed to waiting 3 weeks for cuts.

Since there appears to be no one available sitting on the couch they like after the Foles departure, it's going to take some time to work a deal.
