Cowboys must be desperate at WR

Yeah because UDFA and vets are the same thing. Yes for rookie minicamp they had 2 QB out there throwing. I don't think Dallas is desperate at RB I also do not think they are set at RB and will continue to look at vets to be able to come in and compete for more than a spot on a PS
If tomorrow Dallas turns around and trades a pick to get a RB then what will the smart remarks be?
That they had an opportunity to get AD?

I'm not in favor of giving up a #1 to get a player for 1 to 2 years that is just my view however I do think Dallas is keeping an eye on vets and could be willing to trade if need be to get a RB. How much faith does the club have in our RB? well considering McFadden is the highest paid RB on the team and is barely making more than out Long Snapper does not seem as if they are that confident.

I'm not in favor up giving up any high picks for AD, but if they give up a pick as you said it will likely be for AD. If there is a lesser known RB traded for it would likely be a player for player swap imo. Someone that might not even make the roster. I guess a late pick is possible but I think someone like that would also not be an upgrade.

I can see a lower pick given up for a RB or as you said player swap

Name another number 2 in the league that scores the TDs he does

Oh so this is about TD's?

So if Riley Cooper scores 10 Td's. All them from inside 20, without helping his team get down there. We can consider him a great number 2 correct?

Ok I'll remember this.

They say they're happy with the position but their actions speaks otherwise.

No AD and while I love Dez we cant pay him CJ money, 14m per yr is plenty imo. More than that then just franchise him again next year. He wont be gaining much speed as he continues to get older I dont think...

Yeah I would think having a WR outside of Dez, Cole and Terrence would be a good idea.

We also have Witten, Escobar and Hanna.. Then we run the ball at least 50 percentage of the time... Only so many balls to go around... I really don't understand the TWill hate..

I agree but I think Dallas is looking to add more depth and competition to the WR core. Outside of the 3 top WR on the team (Dez, Cole and Williams) while I feel these guys are a lock, we need at least a couple more guys to fill out the WR core. I also agree with you on not understanding the Williams hate.

The Cowboys worked out wide receiver A.J. Jenkins, a first-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2012. After failing to catch a pass as a rookie, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and caught 17 passes for 223 yards in two seasons there.

The Cowboys also worked out wide receivers Kris Durham, Tommy Streeter and B.J. Cunningham. Durham played for offensive coordinator Scott Linehan for two years with the Detroit Lions with his best season coming in 2013, when he caught 38 passes for 490 yards and two touchdowns. He caught four passes for 54 yards in a win against Dallas that year.

I look at it differently, more due diligence than desperation. Cowboys worked out former 1st and 2nd rounders, former blue chippers.

I think its more about putting pressure on Minnesota to trade us Peterson.

Spielman is sitting in his office thinking " uh oh, they are looking at Tommy Streeter and AJ Jenkins, I better call Jerry and make him an offer to take Peterson now before its too late"

That was my first thought to. Time is running out. Besides, WRs are a dime a dozen. With this offensive line opening up gaping holes every other play, the opposing defense will be forced to bring 8-9 guys in the box and run blitz all the time. Leaving our WR with one on one coverage. We could bring in someone for the fraction of what we pay Dez and still get the same production........ Use the savings to get a DT and a new mascot. Rowdy is creepy.....

This is an obvious Jab at T-Will.

Told you all, they are not comfortable with the Bum. He would be a great 4th WR option. As a number 2 he's a liability.

TWill is going to become the #1 in 2016 after they decline to re-sign Dez.

It was just sarcasm on my part.

You are correct, they are just doing due diligence just like with other positions... like RB.

How is it like RB? We have a great WR in Dez and Williams along with Cole are good players and pretty much locked in as starters. Dallas lost Harris and outside of that we have little except for prospects so it makes sense to bring in guys and even draft a WR. RB who is the lead RB? Everyone has a guess but no true front runner. While I don't think Dallas is acting out of desperation I do think Dallas is still searching for a RB to actually compete for the starting job.

^^ This,,,, it's more likely they are filling in their roster and trying to create competition at all positions. There are diamonds in the rough to be found at WR and KR/PR too.

No doubt but let me ask you, who are the starting 2 WR or 3 WR in a 3 WR set? Now who is the starting RB? Going into last season I don't think anyone with any sense would have said Murray was not going to be the starting RB we all knew that. I think we all Knew that Dez and Williams would be the starting 2 WR. Right now at RB we have hope outside of that not much else, so of course it would make sense for Dallas to look to players with some experience to come in and compete one big reason why McFadden is here

If they are looking for a starter at RB is was not one of the players that came in for a workout just like none of the WRs that came are being considered as starters.

Tate has experience so yes it would be for a starter, hell McFadden is here too and yes it is to compete as a starter. Frankly Tate has done more than McFadden. Right now who is the starting RB for the Cowboys? McFadden? Williams who has not done jack since he was drafted in 2011? Dunbar or Randle? Give me a break you bet Dallas is still looking and it is nothing like WR where surely do know who are starters are. Yes they will bring in some other WR because frankly outside of Dez, Williams and Cole the rest even current roster players are no more than potential at this stage.

The Durham guy made a key long reception in the epic collapse in Detroit a few years ago.

This is nothing more than gathering first hand information on players and being prepared if there's an injury. Everybody should relax.
