Cowboys must be desperate at WR

It was an obvious attempt to camouflage their desperation at RB by bringing in these WRs as a smokescreen. I mean it sounds completely "logical" when you think about it in this tinfoil hat type of way.

No doubt but let me ask you, who are the starting 2 WR or 3 WR in a 3 WR set? Now who is the starting RB? Going into last season I don't think anyone with any sense would have said Murray was not going to be the starting RB we all knew that. I think we all Knew that Dez and Williams would be the starting 2 WR. Right now at RB we have hope outside of that not much else, so of course it would make sense for Dallas to look to players with some experience to come in and compete one big reason why McFadden is here

I dont see any contradiction in what I posted vs what you're saying except that you drifted into including RB while I was only thinking about the OP's topic of WR. As far as RB goes, they're hedging their bets with more players.

Sorry, the whole purpose of this thread was for sarcastic reasons that the OP felt the need to express. I do think if the Cowboys plan on keeping 6 WR then there are 3 spots that are legitimately open, Dallas drafted 1 WR and has brought in others to compete for those 3 spots. RB I was only pointing out how it is different since right now we have no clue as to who the starting RB may be or if the starting RB is even on this team right now

That's a big dood. Looks a bit like a pass-catching tight end.

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel here lately.

As we always should. We're always keeping the roster churning. No one bats an eye when we work out a LB or a FB. When we do that, it's for depth, competition, etc.

But when we're doing it with certain positions like RB or WR, lots of people have these theories that we're in panic mode because we didn't draft a RB or trade for AD or sign Dez yet. In reality, we've been doing this for years now.

I look at it this way, and I bring this question to this forum.
What is the greatest area of strength this team has improved over the past 3 yrs?
I would say talent evaluation.
Why not utilize your strengths?

Working out has beens isn't churning the roster.

You're right, signing them would be churning. This is just looking.

Also, do bottom-of-the-roster guys always need to be rookie free agents or otherwise unknown guys? I personally don't think it makes a difference where a guy came from or where he's been. Sure, a younger guy will take precedence over an older vet much of the time in these situations, but I don't see any reason why we can't keep our options completely open. It's not like we have a shortage of scouts.

The goal is always to have the best 53 guys on the roster as possible. Upgrading those last 5-10 guys isn't a rushed process, but a year round process. It never hurts to have guys you're comfortable with bringing in off the street if an injury occurs also. People are overreacting as usual.

I believe the Cowboys have finally committed to how feverishly they must work to acquire standup competitors.
What's even better is that they now appear to have folks with talent recognition in place to accomplish that goal.
I think Jason Garrett and Will McClay have been invaluable in establishing that mindset.

TWill is going to become the #1 in 2016 after they decline to re-sign Dez.

It was just sarcasm on my part.

You are correct, they are just doing due diligence just like with other positions... like RB.

Yeah, fan zone should be fun to watch during game days.

The Cowboys worked out wide receiver A.J. Jenkins, a first-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2012. After failing to catch a pass as a rookie, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and caught 17 passes for 223 yards in two seasons there.

The Cowboys also worked out wide receivers Kris Durham, Tommy Streeter and B.J. Cunningham. Durham played for offensive coordinator Scott Linehan for two years with the Detroit Lions with his best season coming in 2013, when he caught 38 passes for 490 yards and two touchdowns. He caught four passes for 54 yards in a win against Dallas that year.

No, we just need a bunch of them since we're preparing to forgo the running game.

Oh so this is about TD's?

So if Riley Cooper scores 10 Td's. All them from inside 20, without helping his team get down there. We can consider him a great number 2 correct?

Ok I'll remember this.

Williams scores TDs from yards after catch. What you talking about. You win games by scoring points not getting yards. Do you know how to play football, the object is to score more points then the other team.

I see what you did. It's true that people overreact to every move, even the churning of the bottom of the roster.

10 TDs is 10 TDs. Looking for a reason to discount them is just being a ****** bag for the sake of being a ****** bag. Just sayin'. (Not that I think you're a DB, F, just for the record). My point is, that ANY player that scores 10 TDs for your team is a damned valuable asset to your team. I don't care if it's a FB who scores 10 times from the 1.
