We've got to have defensive captains too, I'd imagine.
One would have been sufficient

NO OL? NO DEZ?
WTH
Let's hope that Lee getting injured propelled Durant to this spot. Outside or Romo and Church...I am not much of a fan of this list.
2 offense, 2 defense, 1 special teams. Not everyone gets a ribbon in the NFL.
I agree. Durant has gotten pretty good reviews all offseason, so him being voted a team captain says alot to me about how the other players feel about him.
I will just come right out and say it...I am not a fan of ANYONE....other than Romo...that were a part of the Ratliff, Ware, Miles, Witten, Bradie James, Newman core. As I have said many times....GOOD organizations do NOT keep guys together this long...that do not win. Now since the QB of this team...plays the biggest role in whether we win or lose...AND he has performed...I am OK with Romo being here. But I am OK with all of those guys being gone...and Jerry better have the stones to move on from Witten if this turns out to be another non-playoff year. Didn't Spencer (under DeMarcus watch) talk about how he did not take practice seriously? And we know how much of a clown Martellus Bennett was under Jason Wittens watch. Listen...winning teams...with WINNERS...they don't let coaches and scheme and disengaged teammtes keep them from their goals. These type of things do NOT happen with Micheal Irvin or Emmit Smith on the team...with the Ray Lewis of the world. Forget the head coach...the Players would not allow someone to admit they don't take practice serious. I mean for DeMarucs....he needs that guy opposite of him to ball out...to limit how many double teams he see's! Ware, Witten, etc...not impressed. Don't care what kind of numbers they put up...they were paid handsomely for doing so...but if you want to be an ALL Time Cowboy great...make other's better!I think Witten and Bailey are legitimate leaders for their respective groups.
Why not Matt Johnson?!
You can have six captains, where they come from is up to the team.

Sorry...I will never have many fond memories of this era of Cowboys football. Only frustration....not accusing you...but I don't think many fans really understand how futile it has been. I think the Commanders, Cowbys and Lions are the only NFC teams to not play in the NFC title game over the last 15 or 20 years. That proves that the NFL is setup for everyone to at least have a chance every now and then. And for an organization like Dallas...that has probably played in the most NFC title games during the Super Bowl era...to be in a 20 year drought...is indicative how bad it has been. I mean Eugne Lockhart racked up like some ridiculous number of tackles...I think Derrick Hambrick did as well...not saying Ware, Romo, Witten are not better than these guys...but wha I am saying is that all the stats will not leave much of impression for fans that remember the Cowboys winning since as far back as the 70sI've always thought of Jason Witten as a great player, a leader on the team, a guy off the field you admire because he's charitable & represents the team with class.
I get tired of him at times propping up Tony because of their bromance but nobody forces me to read all that so I just expect it from him. He's got Tony's back all the time.
Out of all the guys currently on the team he'll be the one I will hate to see no longer playing. But that's just me!

I respect Witten...I respect what he has accomplished. But how impactful has he been as a leader?
I'd like to have seen Dez become a captain this year & I also thought maybe Harris would make ST captain. I still dont like Durant, Would have prefered scandrick even with the suspension.
