Not the day he retired. LOL

But thats a nice try.
In his rookie season --following Witten's retirement --
Schultz was basically inactive the first half of 2018.
Then - he was put on the field; the result - seven starts = 12 catches for 116 yds.

Move ahead to 2019 -- Witten unretires and returns to the Cowboys.
He gets his starting role back; starts all 16 games - has 63 catches for 529 yds and 4 TDs.
AND - that results in Schultz demoted to being a backup TE -getting ZERO STARTS -- and getting ONE catch for 6 yards.

NO there have been more. Some actually turned out to be good, but Garrett couldnt find a way to use them here.

The Miami TE that has been good for years, Jarwin, Swain, the big guy that has a brother playing DE with for Seahawks that had a big mouth. Said he hated Witten.

huh ? ... What Dolphins TE are you talking about ?

Not what Im talking about. Im talking about from the time we drafted Witten to the time we found another great pass catching TE in Shultz. We tried to draft many guys to play TE either alongside Witten or to replace him.

The point is that you dont go out and draft 800 yard, 8 TD pass catching TE's every year.

Dalton Schultz, the Cowboys and everyone else will have to wait until the end of the 2022 season.

Looks like the Cowboys blow it again. Our only hope is that Furgeson looks great and can take over. Shultz is going to have another banner year and his price will be 15 million per year easy.

Oh yah and Martellus Bennet was the Seattle guy.

Michael Bennett, (Marty's brother) ..was the Seattle guy.. and he was a DE
Martelius Bennett was the TE, ..and he never played in Seattle
and i don't see whadda hell Anthony Fasano has to do with Dalton Schultz ..?..

As long as the Cowboys had Witten performing on the field (plus being what he was away from the game) the FO really weren't concerned on finding his replacement.
