I don't recall an angry uprising against the NFLPA, do you? I'm pretty confident the team reps aren't getting rich off it anyway.
Your right ..... I am totally wrong ...... The owners are the salt of the earth ..... I am glad they created the salary cap before the Greedy players ruined the NFL.

No no ..... The billionaire owners are selfless and sweet and only thing about the good of the fans ...... It's the players who are greedy and want to ruin the NFL if not for those angelic owners.

God bless them everyone
So, you out and out lied when you claimed to know what I think?

What small market teams? The expansion teams that came about after the salary cap?
No brother. There were existing franchises that didn't have the fire power to compete.

The cap made it even. Now, you have to be crafty, smart and lucky. Take a risk and hope it pays off. If you will look back through history, you will find your answer.

C'mon now! Not true. it's was created to keep bigger markets from being bullies.

If jerry could buy a team we would be working on at least 10 time world campions.
Why? He is not the richest owner and it is pure speculation that he would go all in all the time.

He is also not a great talent evaluator, and neither is McClay, so spending money doesn't equate to rings.

The Cowboys have the most entitled and spoiled players in the NFL, how bad do you think it would be with no limits?

The cap was created to prevent all of them from "overspending" and along with the TV deal guaranteed every owner profit before they took the field. They could have cared less about protecting smaller markets like GB, IND and PIT.

Greed ruins all businesses. Happens all the time. I doubt you understand that, though.

He should have kept Jimmy CC.. He was the very best at evaluating talent i've ever seen. Now, I don't agree with your entire post but, i respect it.

Oh man ...... I sure am glad they saved the NFL in time ..... They sure got lucky that it also happens to keep their costs down while maximizing their profit margin millions of time over.

Thank Jeebus

I get it. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. Just my stance. This is why we have this place to look at different angles.

This is a ridiculous comment. Exaggerating and misrepresenting what the other person is saying is the tool of the person who doesn't have facts or logic to rely on.

The fact is the players have approved the salary cap. In fact, they have done so several times because there have been multiple new CBA's since the salary cap was first installed.

The logic is the players use the cap, along with other things, as a bargaining chip to get other concessions from the owners. It's a negotiated deal, and the NFLPA doesn't just agree to it without getting something in return. Over the years the NFLPA has negotiated better safety standards, NFL funding of medical care after retirement, higher and higher minimum salary levels, less salary for unproven rookies so the money can be allocated to veterans, guaranteed pay for injured players, a relaxed drug policy that will minimize suspensions ….. meanwhile the most productive players, are still getting rich. .

No I am pretty sure the owners are just saving us from the greedy players ...... Especially those Nose Tackles ...... They are so important they want have the cap by themselves.

NFL minimum salary is $660,000, so even the bottom guy on the roster seems to be doing okay, don't you think?

Yeah ...... I bet a lot of the owners make less than that.

Most of them probably give away all their billions to orphans and stuff

You're under the impression the owners are supposed to make less than the employees are you?

Nope ..... I think every employer should be able to choose employees right out of college and give them no choice where they work and put limitations on how much they can make.

Totally fair and not illegal at all ....... Yup ...... Not at all

Johnson was the right guy at the right time, fresh from recruiting a lot of the players he knew in the draft. As time passed and he was away from the recruiting, he wasn't as correct as he had been. Still a good talent evaluator and better than any the Cowboys have had since 89.

I don't think it was as easy as keeping Johnson as he was already crawling back into the ocean. He was never going to be GM in Dallas so he was here about as long as he'd been anywhere.

Hell, MWH, agreeing with any part of my post is a compliment.

Dalton, enjoy being a Cowboy in 2022 because it's your last.
And that may suit him fine. Not sure how badly he wants to remain in Dallas.

The myth that every player wants to be a Cowboy is just that, myth.

I'm sure you are working on a sequel to the song, "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys". :muttley:
