Always been a big fan of Diggs, but he did us dirty against the niners. It's hard to think about dumping a bunch of cap resources towards him with that being the last glimpse of his game. I'm not suggesting we let him walk, but man he owes us.

true and all the cap paid out each year.
The thing is the players, the stars would not like this, and the players union would never go for it.
Agreed, but it's the only "fair" way to do it. Odd thing is the players union board is incentivized to look out for the veteran players that make up the bulk of the board. They do a poor job of looking out for the young players and\or the coming draftees. The only way I see to over come that is to gradually phase it in so that people aren't being asked to give up what they have in current contract language.

I think the Diggs boys are very much in it to squeeze everything they can for themselves (money, fame, credit, etc). That's the vibe I get.

How much Treyvon is worth really depends on what you believe regarding his commitment.

If you guarantee me I will get the guy who is focused & committed to doing ALL the aspects of his job, certainly it's appealing to keep him.

If you think the half *** efforts he gave in the second half of the season is more likely, use him in a trade & let someone else deal with that.

I know you never want to let go of a good player at a premium position .... but if you aren't going to get a guy you can count on, what do you really have?

Cowboys BREAKING: Dallas Opens Trevon Diggs Contract Talks - Source; $81 Million CB?

Cowboys 'Not Fair' In Diggs Contract Talks? CB Wants 'Guaranteed' Deal?

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant reveals he has talked with cornerback Trevon Diggs through Diggs' extension talks with the team, and gave his thoughts on the situation

In this story:

Dallas Cowboys

DALLAS COWBOYS
The Dallas Cowboys have several key players due for new deals soon, with one of them being star corner Trevon Diggs.
Diggs and the Cowboys began extension talks in early June, as CowboysSI.com was first to report. But it's been relatively quiet since then. That is until former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant decided to chime in.
Since exiting football a few years ago, Bryant has been very vocal about issues around the NFL and especially his beloved former team. It turns out that Bryant has been talking with Diggs throughout the corner's extension talks, and he revealed where they stand right now. Notably, Bryant had an interesting comment on how the Cowboys are handling the negotiations.

"I'll say this, he is not trying to knock them across the head, I will say that," Dez said via his Personal Corner Spaces. "And I will say they're not trying to be fair to him. And I feel like what he's asking for, he is rightfully deserving of that contract. You know, I believe it should all be guaranteed."
A few thoughts.

One, I'd put little to no stock in what Bryant says about this. He's getting his info from Diggs camp and he's going to be pro-player. So his "take" on the contract talks has little value to me.

Two, I'd like to have Diggs back, but if it's some ridiculously high number, nah, I'd pass. He's a great player but I am not sure paying CBs a crap ton of money makes a ton of sense.

Don't know as I've seen giving a CB a huge contract has worked. Ramsey w/ the Rams, I guess, but mostly they don't.

Diggs is too one dimensional for me. When he's not getting picks(3 last season), not sure he's all that valuable. I'd rather have a hip pocket corner.

Not jealous at all. I’m personally financially set for life and LOVE capitalism……I just understand that certain positions in football don’t carry the same value and since the QB carry’s 25% of some salary caps, hard choices must be made…..although the staff at ESPN would disagree since they personally want every player to break the bank…..child-like virtue signaling on their part
Set for life huh?

yeah! you get that money boy. I don't care if we ever win anything. The players don't get to play for long, so you get that money boy, screw you Jerry.

This is Dez's opinion of fair and not fair. and to quote Bill Munny, "Deserves got nothin' to do with it".

Like most of society, merit and longevity should determine salary levels not BSPN or the union.

In fairness to his team, Diggs is pushing his luck with his unwillingness to be considerate in his dealings with them. Expecting to be awarded a guaranteed contract seems highly unlikely to gain favor with the duo in this team's front office. In fact, it's very likely to be just the opposite.

This is starting to feel like a trade might be the best option. A first-round pick would do.

Too much hot and cold with Diggs.

Yeah I know every contract has guaranteed money.

I'm talking about the FULLY guaranteed contract.... like the one the Cleveland owner went rogue and broke rank on and gave to Watson, and damned his relationship with other owners forever because of it.

Jerruh Jones, the Eagles owner, and the SanFran owner sit around the bar drinking together thinking of ways to get revenge on the rat Cleveland owner
Lmao. Why these owners do stupid things is beyond me.

LOL the dumbest human in history who dropped the only pass to him that ever mattered thinks the baby who is scared of Kittle should get a massive deal. Maybe try to not suck next time and we will go from there. Maybe papa Diggs and baby Diggs should go away and bother domeone else.
